NA Camshaft Upgrade Benefits

I am looking into a set of NA grind camshafts. I have a semi built bottom end and a stock rebuilt head. I saw that alot of guys run the crower stage 2. I was wondering if anyone has run the Brian Crower Stage 2's? Also when running stage 2 or 3 cams is it beneficial to have cam gears installed or can you run stock gears? (I am going to replace the valve springs and retainers)

Cams aren't going to do much without a way to tune. What are you trying to do, go turbo or stay na?

I was going to use a more descriptive title but, the moderator seems to change my title all the time so.. next time I will put, "chuck norris uses crower 2's on his 420A" anyway I am looking into megasquirt right now I will be tuning the car and also for the next year or so I am gonna stay NA. when I am ready to boost the car I will change the cams.

Well since your gonna boost the car save your money and use it towards turbo stuff. Thats my opinion

Those cams are pretty popular with the n/t crowd. You can get some extra pep out of the car with them dialed in properly. I'm also pretty sure you can use the same cams when you go turbo, I haven't heard of anyone having issues running them like that.

Crower 2's make the car sound way different but I have alot done I'm not sure about using them on stock motor. You don't need to upgrade the cam gears right away either.
