Mystery tug on the steering wheel?

Hey guys,

Since I bought this car, when turning, there has been a "tug" at the steering wheel like a gremlin was trying to pull it the opposite direction as I turned.

What the heck is this?

Tug, as in just more resistance than usual, or as in a lot of resistance during the whole turn?

Is it more pronounced at higher speeds and sharper turns?

does this happen only when your idle? or even when your moving?

Only when actually moving and turning.

Like, imagaine some reaching under and barely tugging on the wheel when you're turbning. not enough to jerk the wheel back that way or anything, just a slight little jerk.

did you check the air in your tires.

are you hearing a clicking sound? check the CVB joints.

Yeah, air is good. have a rim with a lightly bent lip, but moved it to the rear and made no change (been repaired, just not too well, ).

And I was thinking possibly cv joints too, wasn't sure if theyd cause that or not though.

How can I for sure check them?

Usually, you hear a bad CV. Go out behind the mall, along the wall and do some driving with your windows down. Listen for clicking.

Beyond that, I'd call Art Bell.
