my tranny wont go into gear help ........

well lets see i finaly got my timing fixed ..thanks to jimh hes that man then i go to move the car forward and at first its stuck and it hesitates than goes forward at like 2500 rpm's
then i moved it back ....after i stoped and went forward the car would not go into drive ...so i cycled through the gears slowly one at a time and nothing would happen ..
so i checked the tranny fluid and it looked good but it wasnt hot ..actualy it wasnt even warm so i am realy confused im not sure if the tranny is screwed or if its just locked up some how ...i have to figure it out before it starts to snow because its sitting on the road by my friends and i dont want it to get snowed in ...some one please help ...anything you think will help i will try i am desperate

I had the same problem I got lucky and just changed the filter and it ran fine for couple of months until all the clutches went out so i Would assum u'd need a new tranny soon

put your car up in the air with 4 jackstands, put car into neutral.

check both front and rear wheels and see if they turn. maybe a tcase lockup?
