I put my sub and amp back in my car today and at first it wasnt workin . i got it all in and i was listening to it with just my accesories part of my ignition. When i tuned my car on and listened to it it was picking up engine vibrations . Like my sub moves to the rpms of my engine. i dont get it. HELP!

you need to give your amplifier a better grounding point and perhaps even a heavier gauge wire

I had the same problem in my firebird. If you cross the RCA input with the power it will do that or if you have a bad RCA cable. Jiggle the input wires around and see if that helps, if not see if they cross the power, and if that dont work get new input wires.

Exactly...first adjust your amp. make sure you are tuned right. i notice that an untuned amp will pick up engine noise. then check your grounding point..make sure that it is secured and tight. a loose ground cable will pic up noise. also check how you routed your wires. do you have a good set of insulated rca cables and power wire. keep them away from eachother.

Make sure your ground wire is grounded to bare metal. Best way not to cross wires is to run your RCAs on one side of the car and the power wire on the other side of the car.

The noise your picking up is the alternator. Thats why it revs up with the engine. If it's only coming from you sub and not the rest of your speakers the problem is in your amp wiring. Just do what everyone else suggested and check everything out. Make the ground has a good contact and route any power and RCA wires away from each other.

If you have cheap RCAs that can cause engine noise try to get some nice sheilded rcas from circuit city or best buy. Also if you can run all your power wires(power wire and remote turn on) down the left side of the car and the rcas down the right should also help eliminate the problem. Also make sure your ground wire is grounded to to a solid peice of the chassis like the floor or strut housing, and scrape the paint make sure there is bare metal contact. Engine noise can be very ahrd to diagnose so try those areas first. Another thing to do is mount the amp either on the back of the seat or sub-box. What this does is keeps the the amp from picking up ground loop noise from the contact of the amp chassis and car chassis. Basically you want the amp screwed into wood not metal. Give those things a try and I bet you solve it!

Is your power wire running next to your RCA wires. If so move the RCA wires to the other side of the car, and run them back that way should help you get rid of the engine interferance.

Yep, first rule of car sound systems. Run the RCA's and power wires on seperate side of the car. Should alleviate the problem....

yea first find out if its only the subs or the head unit because not grounding the head unit right can cause many weird things good luck
