Man, you gotta give it to those mopar guys, this is the first and ONLY program in the world that has SOOO much backing from the factory

Those guys have it good, there is absolutely no need for any aftermarket companies to even bother with it, if we mitsubishi guys only had this kind of backing from MITSU....DAMN

Anyways, check it out

http://www.moparsupercenter.com/bb/uploads/Stage_3R.pdf

Here is the mopar's car with the mopar stage 3 in it

http://sportcompactcarweb.com/features/0411scc_srt02/

On the mopar stage 3 by itself, it ran 11.8@123, yes its the lightweight edition, but still, damn

AND ALL THIS with factory tuning, remember guys, this isnt like drivinng an eclipse with 880cc injectors on an AFC, LOL, as some might now how complicated it gets, this is a car that runs like a stock, factory car, but with 370whp STILL ON THE STOCK IC

And man, those mopar guys are trick, the TOYS, as what they call it, with different settings for different sort of racing, like slicks, street tires, race gas, street gas, limiting boost in first 2 gears, no lift to shift, its awesome

I drove his car with the stage 2, which has that no lift to shift and its awesome, it is loud, shots flames and keeps boost at 16psi, its amazing

Anyways, just wanted to share this with you guys, its gonna be wild. I wish more manufacturers offered this sort of backing, its amazing

He spends $3600 for the kit, $500 for a clutch, $400 for exhuast, $1200 on coilovers, $1200 on wheels, $650 for willwoods(yes, 4pot brakes) and $550 for a HUGE FMIC and its DONE

With slicks, we will get the car into high 11's for sure

Now i gotta keep up, im ditching the 16g in favor of the t3/04b from bullsye, and ditching the 550s for 660s, as well as short piping for my FMIC and the feramic clutch. I just want 325whp or so, i would be happy on that with the stock block and all, and i dont want it to be on more then 21-22psi tops, i dont feel safe running anymore then that on all the stock stuff

I am just hoping i can give him a run for his money, but man, cant beat that factory backing :thumb:

it that for an srt4? Sounds like he's spending alot of money on the car, Should be quite the machine when it's done!!
My friend just bought an srt4 and plans on making 500+ whp or something like that, But I believe him being he had an acura rsx turbo'd and the dyno sheet was 400whp on pump gas and low boost, over 500hp on higher boost with good gas I believe. The car was sick but he just sold it to someone all the way in tennessee. Anyways, Hopefully you're friends car will all work out good!

I cant lie for a front wheel drive car that is bad ass. But I have AWD and I wouldnt give it up for the world. I love that feeling of lunching off the line and hearing nothing but a small chirp and then being stuck to the seat. Also I dont care for 4 door sports cars. Could you imagine if that neon was 2 doors and AWD. I couldnt even imagine.

yup and in the end ... it's still a NEON

blablabla...when people come up with decent comebacks, its one thing, that one is unfortunately not gonna cut it anymore with an srt4

for that sort of factory backing, i wouldnt mind driving one either

Its got a great engine, bulletproof tranny, and a quaife which is pretty badass for factory

Im just overly impresed with the factory backing

THe short shifter he got was $90 and it was a complete, shifter and base and all, all steel, the shifts are so crisp and clean its amazing, made my mopar, fits perfect, comes with all hardware, its just stuff like that which i can truly appriciate

About his car, he already has the rest of the stuff, it sounds expensive but we've all done it, wheels, susp., wheels, etc...

The stage 3 and clutch is the last thing he's doin

Its a pretty badass setup, i cant wait to check it out and see how good it is

The most amazing part of all, the ENGINE BAY WILL LOOK 100% STOCK

The new turbo/manifold looks just the same as stock, just slightly larger, and even then, mostly on the inside

I just posted this to get some discussion going, mostly about the impressive factory support that the srt4 gets and how involved mopar is

It puts all else to shame, by far...

I've been around the aftermarket world for years now, and this kind of stuff impresses me, ive driven some very tuned cars, some very well known setups, and its just not the same, because you can always tell the car is modified, something is not 100% right, there's always something

This new mopar program may be the closest thing to perfection that it can get....and we gotta give props to that

The car with just drag radials and exhuast ran 13.8@101mph

He is planning on low 12's

I ordered a set of drag radials, after my new stuff goes in, i will be happy with high 12's.

I currently have a s16g and its fairly nice but i just dont know how far it will take me

Although it has potential, i have pulled on vishnu stage 1+ evos with hks cams from a roll when i was on race gas, but i think i want a bit more

oh, dont imagine too hard, i have a feeling and some slight inside info that something like that might just be happening VERY SOON

Also in connection with mitsu, it will be fairly interesting to say the least

The srt4 will be completely remade, it will no longer be a neon, be based on a neon or be called a neon

Soon enough, it may be a very very badass factory hotrod

STI and evo guys better watch their backs...

btw, here is his car,can u see mine in the garage? LOL

That is very nice!! Wow, I really do like that car, It looks so good. About the its just a neon thing, it's just a lancer also ;) I dont see why so many people talk so highly about the evo's I personally dont like them too much, But again EVERYONE has they're own opinion. Tell your friend keep up the good work, Anyone that puts thousands of dollars in they're car hasto be respected, He obviously takes good care of his car and has big plans for it. Again, Good luck :) :thumb:

I hear you man. I gave him his props, I just like AWD better especially off the line and no matter what, there really is no argument to that especially when it comes to street racing. And of course you are gonna back your friend and that article up all the way because you have a FWD GST. That article gives more and more hope to front wheel drive cars and racing. And no offense but if you had an AWD I believe you would understand where Im coming from. My friend Kelvin has a gst that he converted to AWd. Before converting he could never get off the line well. He had all this power and couldnt even use it. 650HP to be exact. we would be on the interstate at 90-95 MPH and he could lite his front tires up. I mean come on that FN sucks. But now with the AWD its just FN scary. When he takes off from a stop now his car twists all out of wack for like .5 sec and then it grips and goes. Its unbelievable. And you say that our cars dont seem stock after we do all our modifications. Well this is true but did that neon seem stock with its specially made paper thin doors that were difficult to get shut. Also part of the reason why most peoples cars dont run smoothly or like stock is because of inexperiencing with tuning. You have to admit that 85% of it is tuning your car correctly. And my friend knows how to tune his car and it runs strong and great. Also you say that Neon's tranny is bullet proof right. But that means nothing if the engine cant handle the power. So what if you want to get into lets say 600Hp with the neon, you would have to build the engine up and It will doubtfully look stock after that so come on get real. And personally I could care a less if my engine looks stock or not. Good day.

hey no hard feelings at all man..

about looking stock, i meant the engine, its nice to have a clean, simple looking engine bay thats makinng 370whp, the lightweight was just a cool car mopar built to gain attention

About AWD, i regret everyday that i didnt get a GSX, obviously awd is better, i wish i got it, but i didnt, oh well, next time, LOL

I have to do my best with what i got, i got some drag radials and i finished my FULL bushings install a while ago, including ALL control arms, all motor mounts and have some decent coilovers, so i have done all i can for traction. When i put my clutch in, i might throw in a BM LSD as well

Yeah . I almost made that mistake. But my boy Kelvin is the only one that I know that can work on our cars correctly and he told me that he had made the same mistake by buying a GST. He basically told me that if I bought a GST and didnt wait for a GSX he wouldnt even look at my car. Harsh I know, but I thank him everyday for saving me from myself.

I want to get a srt4 and swap out the hood and stuff with a neon!! :thumb:
That would be a killer sleeper!!!
I would pull up to T.s.i 's 5.0's and hondaaaaas and just smoke em and thay would cry like little bitches.
That would be so cool :D

we took all the badges off and do this sometimes

here in fresno there are alot of riced out neons, so nobody even knows, even with the wing on

Its awesome, lots of asses have been handed down

everything from mustangs, to wrx's, to civics to camaros

with the stage 3, aims will be set at z06's, vipers, fast hybrid/turbo civics, etc

cant wait

That's the stock intercooler???

HOLY S#%T!

As far as the rumor of a AWD SRT-4...That's the kind of thing that keeps me up at night.

Factory upgrades are always better than aftermarket, specially in this case. Pricing does tend to be considerably higher though...

*off topic*
- I wish i lived in the southern US-
Does anyone have a single sister??

well its $3600 and for that you get:

complete turbo/manifold/wasategate assembly
fuel injectors
viper fuel pump
fuel pump return line setup
whole new ECU specifically designed for it(MOST VALUABLE)
turbo toys(a indash little control center that allows you to adjust everything)
IC sprayer
ALL HARDWARE, every nipple, any bolt, any nut

thats not half bad

i think no one can get around saying the srt4 is not a great car..it just is..we all should admit it..i sure as hell do :thumb:

The SRT-4 is quickly becoming a dominating force around here.. we have three locals that are insanley fast..

#1) cut off exhaust prgressive controlled nitrous with 150 shot 7.59 1/8 miles
#2) AGP turbo kit soon to be with GT35R turbo and large BAR/plate intercooler recently ran 7.30's 1/8 mile
#3) using a custom fabbed kit that may be sold nationally soon.. with a LARGE turbo and large intercooler.. yet to run 1/8

they are deff. bad ass

theres no doubt that those srt4's are friggin fast and have lots of potential. but u have to admit they got it easy. no tuning with loggers and dsmlink. no messing with o2voltages, timing. i dont know if id like it that easy. i like working with what i got. :dsm:

Heard a great quote the other day:

It's only a Neon until you lose to one, then it's an SRT4.

i dont car how much power that car has or how bad it kills me in a 1/4 it still has a dodge neon badge on it, thier one of the unglyest cars i've seen, and yes that monsterous intercooler looks awsome and the car hauls ass but it's still a dodge underneith

actually it doesnt say neon on it;)

But it does say SRT4 on it

I agree, I love my dsm and am glad I got into modding cars with it, because if for some reason I ever pick up something else, I can probably figure out/do anything i'll ever need to it. My DSM has given me a really good background to mod a lot of different cars and do it the proper way.

as far as an awd srt4 i read that its not gonna happen and that after 05 the srt4 is done. OR is the srt4 gonna be done, but a new awd turbo to take its place?

Damn that is some shit, they even have a nice installation manual to go by, while us dsmers have to go and try to figure out how to put parts on the hard way.

I would have to disagree...
Even though an installation manual is a very important resource, we have multiple dsm forums, various faq's, and lots of how-to websites. You are only as resourcefull as you want to be.
