My no spark thread

Ok I just bought a 91 talon tsi for cheep but the car doesn't run. The car turns over but doesn't start up. I checked the spark on #4 and nothing also i'm not getting any fuel to the fuel rail. So where do I start? I haven't checked the fuel pump yet. But I have checked the coil and its getting power. I think I have a list started of things to check from searching. i need to check the transister, cas, cts, mpi, and the ecu. what else could cause it not to spark. I think first i'm going to work on getting fuel going. Is this were I need to start? I'm noob to the 4g63's so bare with me.

With so many things not working, do yourself a favor and first check the ECU which controls all of them. Open it up and check (look and smell - rotten egg smell) for leaking capacitors which is common in old dsm's.

ok did all the checks and it turned out to be the ecu i got a new one then the mpi relay blew. so now i'm waiting on it but i did get the car to start and run 7 or 8 times

Before you proceed just double check if you have any broken, loose or not connected wires and if so repair it. And then just double check your fuses, i had some what of a similar problem back then when i first got my 4g63dsm...........

ya normally with a no spark issue its a wire of the CAS, good job on gettin it running..
