I recently got a 96 Talon TSI AWD
This is my first DSM, I previously had 2 Mustangs, and I have to say I have fallen in love!
The car has 107,000 miles, with 2,000 on a rebuilt motor and trans.

It's a got a 6 bolt swap in it, a little 14b turbo, cold air, upgraded intercooler piping, 650cc injectors, apexi SAFCII, 4" straight pipe exhaust, it's running 16lbs of boost right now. It runs pretty good I must say. It's so much different then a V8. Once it gets in boost it feels like a rocket ship.
Also has 18"Rotas, tokico adjustable shocks, sprint racing springs, and sprint racing sway bars
It was also tuned by Jake Montgomery, if you know who that is.
I now have the quickest car in my school

He said the car ran 13.9's with the stock motor, and i'm just wanting it to run low 13's, Think with a good driver its capable?
Here are a few pictures, I'm new to the whole DSM world, so if you have any suggestions let me know.

Thanks, Ryan

Welcome to the DSM world!. i was in your shoes about a year ago except my 95 GST was practically bone stock, yet still not taken care of too well. Hell of a car though, and fun to drive. ( the ladies love boostin) Best of luck with the build. Oh, and i love the car LOL. Nice find.:thumb:

You will need to get a bigger fuel pump the stock fuel pump can't handle anything over 16pounds of boost, which is still pushing it. You should get a Walbro 190, or 255, and its usually a good idea to rewire the fuel pump to ensure that you can maintain consistent fuel pressure. You should also consider doing some weight reduction, its a good free way to shave some time off of your 1/4 mile timeslip. Hope this helps, and good luck with the car it looks niceOMG

Stepping up to an Evo3 16g will go a long way toward getting you lower ETs. A tubular turbo manifold is also worth a fair amount of power after it is tuned properly. Best things to get that will be useful for as long as you have the car is a Wideband 02 sensor for tuning and monitoring of the AFRs and a data logging system. DSMlink or a stand alone EMS like AEM will also offer tremendous improvement in tuning capability. A laptop can then be used to monitor engine vitals (and datalog) and will act like several different gauges in one. What are your power goals for the car?

Thanks for the compliments guys!
My power goals are somewhere in the 400hp range. I don't know if that is a far cry or not.. But the motor is ready to handle it. Has all forged internals already. Basically, I'd be happy with a high 12 second car. Then I can go to the high school drags and have one of the faster cars there. I'm just worried about breaking the tranny or something. So I have yet to launch it, or shift it hard. I've only given the car 3/4 throttle from a roll, and it puts you back in the seat good. Revs clean to 7,000 with no problems. They guy said it'll rev to 8,000 no problem, but i'm waiting to put a few more miles on the car. It also has a A/F gauge, boost gauge, and egt gauge already.
I was also told that jake m, who tuned it said its somewhere around 350awhp. But i'm not sure whether to believe that or not.

yeah maybe 2 something to the wheels. I agree when youre ready to go faster get a e316g. nice car btw
Edit: man thats a t25...

I would punch your numbers in off your turbo to see if its a t25 or 14b... If that guy lied about it being a 14b then how do you know if he lied about your internals??

def would invest in a fmic too....but you cant always trust when people say whats done with the internals...cant prove what u cant exactly see ya know...unless theres proof otherwise...but very clean 2g...take care of her

Thats a t-25 or t-28. And nice talon. I like the wheels. Been looking for a set of those close by.

Do you realize you have 1 plug wire that is an entirely different color than the other 3?

I'm ordering the timing belt cover and getting some new spark plug wires. The one different wire bugs me
I plan on getting a FMIC, Tubular Header, Bigger Turbo, Bigger injectors, and a better fuel pump, then something like DSMLink.
I have receipts for the internals in the car, and I am trusting him because Jake M built the motor, and he is known for his Talon, so I am trusting them.

And thank you again for all the compliments, I definitely like the wheels and love the way it sits, just need to get the back camber fixed.
How much awhp do these make stock?

For a manual, stock is 205 hp at 6k rpm, 216 lb-ft torque at 3k rpm

Nice find with some mods and low miles to boot! Looks like you got a 1G bov there, I have one but need at least the upper intercooler pipe with a 1G attachment or something to work. I also just found a big hole in my stock plastic "pipe". Probably why I'm getting massive boost leak. Good luck with the upgrades and reaching your goal!

You will want to get DSM link before you get bigger injectors. 650cc is the highest you want to go with and SAFCII. If you get a fuel pump bigger than a 190 you will also need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator(AFPR). And as long as the toe on your car is aligned your camber wear shouldn't really be that noticable. The body lines of the car always make it look worse too. My rear camber has been at -1 for over a year I would say the tires are still at 75% tread left at least. The toe on my front wheels was terrible and they were done in about 2 weeks. I would get the camber checked, then do the home made camber kit: http://my.att.net/p/s/community.dll?ep=16&groupid=94647&ck=
You NEED to get it realigned after you change the camber, it WILL change your toe and like I said, that is what kills tires. Also, that home made kit works just as well as any kit you can buy imo. It has been tried and tested over and over by the dsm community. I did this a year ago and I have had 0 problems.
