Palm Harbor,
Ok, I am getting a new car, my first car....and I was wandering what car i should get..i was looking for a 1997 - 1999 eclipse gst or gsx. I dont know what the better model is, or the better model for a 16 yr. old guy would be......so iof you guys could help me it would be appreciated. Thanks :dsm: :dsm: :dsm: :thumb: :dsm:

haha dont be so mean to the kid man...he is fragile at 16!!! but at least he drives a DSM, one good thing can come from that post. :)

not when he is out racing someone good and drunk some night and kills someone... Then him driving a DSM isn't gonna be a good thing...

he's not fragile at 16 - he's impressionable. If he gets the impression that enough people think his behavior is stupid then maybe, just maybe he'll think about being responsible...

At 17 I got in an alcohol related accident. I wish I would have had a little more support to stay out of the BS that goes on in high school. I'd be in a lot better position right now. Might still be able to afford to insure another 3kgt.. (no it wasn't involved in the incident - I got it a couple years later. But not driving for a year gives you plenty of time to work to save up for one)

i hear ya...maybe he will too?

OK, for one thing...im not a drunk....second..i would rarely race out side of tracks....and third, im buying it not my parents..so all of you can suck my #### you jeloous bitches....go eat a dick

think about what you just said... this forum is composed of people here to help you and offer advice when you're in need. these are NOT the people you want to be spurning with your childish retorts. i advise you to grow up before buying a car (considering the maturity displayed in your most recent post) and especially before buying a really powerful car. learn some online etiquette before coming back

I just barely wrecked my car. I felt so stupid. I'm paying for all of the damages as well as insurance and car payments. I learned my lesson the hard way. My car look just like Dawg's car. It is in great condition. I'll probably get it back this week. Luckily I didn't hit anyone else and the damage was only like a grand. Could have been much worse.

I think you can have a fast car as your first but 9 out of 10 times it'll turn out like me. I've never got a ticket or been pulled over but I messed up and now I gotta pay for it. Anyways I guess you gotta live and learn.

Out there, i know that the forums are for help and what not....but saying that someone is going to be drunk and crash his car is not help.....and if you dont know someone i dont think you shuold say sh!t.....

OMGThat is not cool!!

People are only relaying a well needed message. If you are young, inexperienced, and irresponsible you WILL destroy this car in one way or another. You will blow shit up or wreck it in the blink of an eye. I know 2 guys that rolled there cars (1 gst, 1 gsx) in the first 2 weeks of having the car in there possesion They still had the Temp tags on the car!!! . This is not your typical 98hp civic nor is it as reliable.

People on here are (for the most part) only helping you if they can. I 2 am one to say you NEED TO RESPECT these machines. People will be much less apt to help you in further posts if you are acting like this. And even though it is Taboo to talk of "
THE OTHER SITE " but most of the people on here are on that site also.:shhh:

Back on topic I would have to say a nice 1g awd will do you just fine!!:thumb:

my first car was a 1987 toyota camry:thumb:

then when i was 18 i bought a mint 1990 nissan 300zx twin turbo which got totalled by some asshole that liked rear ending people:cry:

then, one day, i was driving my enterprise rental passed a used car lot and a streak of sunlight lit up a real nice cherry red 1990 GSX.. i was in love.. long story short i had a shitbox for a first car

That's IT!! I also had an 87 Camry (white with navy interior) and got totalled by some drunk 50 year old at the beach during my senior week trip. Spending the week in the bed was not my idea of FUN!!!

 i don't recall posting anything about being drunk... you're putting words into my posts... like i said, i'm on cars 5 and 6 and i'm only 20, i think i can safely say that a first car should not be a high hp car.

Yeah, I think the second part of his statement was for the ones saying that to him.

Use periods next time.
