I bought my laser for 500 beans, in rocky mount NC, car has a good body, just needs to be painted. The owner put the body kit from a 92 talon, on the 91 laser, looks ok..he could have done better though.. From what i read here on the forums this will be my setup .......I'll practice on the laser, then later on i'll build the killer 4g63T for my 88 starion .

My plans for the Laser rs (FWD)

*190LPH
*550's
*EVO III turbo
*EVO III mani
*front mount
*2 1/4 IC piping
*Full 3in Exhaust
*ACT clutch 2600
*pocket logger
*Dsm link(if i need it)
*dyno time
*15-20psi
Should be 300hp....am i correct....:thumb:

You should get your car painted at American Body & Paint in Lenoir,NC. He only charged me like $500 for paint with clear:thumb:

BTW I'd hope your car would make close to 300HP with all those mods. Hopefully your car doesn't have 200,000 miles on the engine:D

How many miles does your car have on it? I wanna see some pics and some info guy. But from what you said i will give your car :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: and that is a pretty good rating :D

Nice man, I just picked up a 91 Laser RS Turbo a couple months ago for 400 bucks and all it needed was some new spark plugs (NGK BPR6ES of course) and new wires that i picked up off ebay for 40 bucks. Now it runs beautifully and it only has 136,000 miles on it.

The car has 123k....It had a couple of problems when i got it...like a cracked wind sheild, bad CV joints cracked ex mani and a leaking water pump, broken left balance shaft belt......i have already put in some fresh CV joints, new water pump, new wind shield....now im stuck on the balance shaft belt, im not sure if i should just throw on the belt and call it a day or install a bal shaft elm kit, the car is still down, the front part of the engine is all taking apart.... i just dont want to pull the engine right now... but i don't want to have to replace a head either if the belt breaks... I can't belive i drove the car all the way from rocky mount NC to Jacksonvill NC were i live in the condition the car was in.. I didn't know it had all these problems until i got it home... thats like a 3 to 4 hour drive one way....I know the engine is soild because man the thing pulls hard....anyway let me know what you guys think..:laser:

I say get the eliminator kit. You don't want the balance belt to go later on and then take out your timing belt too. As long as your in there, you should replace the timing belt and tensioners as well if you don't know the last time it was done. Very good idea to replace those. It will save you a lot of money later on instead of having to pay for new valves and all that other good stuff if the timing belt were to break.

Yeah maybe i should...my second option is just to leave the laser stock, to save for my 4g63T swap in my starion...oh by the way, my starion is modded also(18g, upgrade front mount,FP, 2.5 IC pipes,52mm TB....etc)

what does the balance shaft eliminator kit do, and how much do they cost. PLease excuse my ignorence but i'm new to the dsm game.

It gets rid of the balance shaft belt which is sometimes the cause of timing belt failure since the BS belt is right next to it, when it breaks, it can travel into your timing belt and cause you to jump timing or even sometimes cause failure which is not pretty on the pocket. It's better to just get the eliminator now so you don't have problems later.
