canada,
My tranny grinds in 1 and 2, and grinds in 3 only if I pull it out of gear and then quickly put it back into gear. Also its hard to get into reverse.
Im running GM syncro mesh in the tranny. This is a JDM tranny I got with my engine, I am using my original clutch. The thing is these problems were also happening on my old tranny aswell. The only differnt problem is that my tranny shakes alot when I take my foot of the gas, i can feel it shake pretty bad. It also shifts hard from gears 1-3.

Could the problem be my clutch?
Could the clutch need adjustment?
Could the shifter need adjustment?
Could the slave/ master cly be bad?
Could the tranny itself be screwed?

Thanks :dsm:

I still love dsm's

sadly our synchromesh are made out of copper and the dogteeth tend to wear out very rapidly, tranny is skrewed unless you know how to rebuild it and have all the right presses and equipment, you can get them all replaced for a fee of course from any alot of tranny shops, good luck, pm me if you have any questions.

Sadly this happened to me too exactly. How did you go about filling your tranny? Was the nose of the car jacked up or level ? Mine was jacked up. So I didnt get a proper level reading. The tranny is only supposed to have 2.8 quarts exactly not an ounce more. I fu$#ed up when I did mine and put the full three quarts in. Then my tranny did that problem about 3000 miles later. I cahnged the fluid to GL 5 90/140 full synthetic and it seemed to work great for a day. Then the damned thing exploded. The case litteraly split in half. Know anyone with a 90 turbo 5 speed tranny they want to part with? :|

Why would you switch to a JDM Trans and keep the stock POS clutch? When a trans starts to go it's going to start damaging the clutch and flywheel as well... That's why I swapped all 3 at the same time, RRE X-Clutch, Fidanza Flywheel, JDM Trans.
