ok so im new to the forums and i really like what i see so far but anyways i have a 98 eclipse gs and ive got the car looking amazing its bright yellow with a carbon fiber hood drift body kit molded in and konig opal rims the car really looks amazing i love the eclipses so much but anyways i want to make the car somewhat quick i dont need a race car but a little more take off power would be nice as long as it doesnt degrade the motor and im thinking about ordering a reman gsx motor cause i work at napa and get huge discounts on that stuff so if anyone can help me get started it be much appreciated :)

Okay a 4g63 will fit into your car with ALOT of fabrication done. If you had a GS sypder with a 4g64 then you could work with that but that would have to be of a GS-T. There are a few things you can do to upgrade the power. I mean what are you looking for??? That's the question you have to ask yourself. There a turbo kits and NOS kits but I would not miss with that stuff. I mean intakes, exhaust, throttle, and ignition upgrades all work too. Don't forget about transmission upgrades as well,so people put all the work into the motor and forget about the trany.

so it will take a lot of work to get the gsx motor in there i thought the body would be relatively the same? but oh well yeah i dont know about turbo so many peoples cars blow out from that will it still be really quick with all motor work done or is ther any other motor that will fit easily?

I would say turbo the 420a...A 4g63 mounts different and has different motor mounts and different trans ect... It would be allot easier to make what you got fast

Whats your budget? If you are willing to spend $4000-5000 then might as well get a 95 and up gsx or tsi and transfer all the body parts from the GS to the other car and sell the GS and with that money beef the engine and the turbo. Problem Solved..... If you want 5-10 hp gain then get an intake and exhaust but it will still be slow, unless u go with forced inductio (turbo and such things).

its just ive put lots of money in this one and would hate to have to get the body kit on another car and stereo and all that i cant believe the gsx motor wont fit what about the 2.4 motor i guess thats the spider one
