My car's burning oil bad!!!!!!!

I've been driving my Eclipse after maintanence for about two weeks now and the car is burning oil. 2 1/2 quarts of oil to be exact. Can someone please tell me why it's burning oil? Could it be the valve guide? I've also experience some good amount of smoke coming out of my exhaust while driving a little. Someone please help me fast I don't wanna keep putting oil in every single time like gas. Gasoline is now another ownage for me since it's $3.25 a gallon

smoking out of the exhaust, is there oil all over the engine bay, possibly a head gasket

I don't see any oil over the engine bay. On Saturday this guy is going to run a compression test on my car to see what's up since he once rebuild his motor before and usually knows what's wrong with the car.

do a compression test to see if everything is alright! and if the numbers are low do a wet test! ( if you don't know how to do it check the vaq)

Next, if everything is fine check the turbo, see if has shaft play, in and out and side to side. Also if that's fine, go on to checking the pcv valve.

if thats good then you can assume you need to replace the valve seals. If you burn that much oil it would be noticeable. You can take off the manifold and look inside the head and you'll see oily sludge on the valves!

If you are burning alot it is either rings or turbo most likely.

If you want a cheap bandaid fix use Lucas Oil Stabilizer.

Or time for a rebuild.

Unless it's your turbo, in which case a new turbo would fix it

Also, valve seals make it smoke mostly just if it's been sitting idling or sitting over night. Then you start it, or hit the gas right after idling, it smokes for a minute at most. But not all the time, or during boost.
