Fuel retuen just puts fuel back into the tank. It does not supply the fuel pump
Arent there two return line one being on the pump
Maybe on the pump mount but not the pump itself. Still..a leak on the return line does not affect the driveability of the car. The fuel pump could be sitting in a bucket so long as its submerged in fuel
Fuel smell has what to do with a boost leak? You probably do have a fuel leak but the two aren't remotely related. You wont know you have a boost leak unlless its painfully obvious or you actually test it and not guess at it
No. The symptoms you are presenting aren't indicative of anything yet. Educated guess at best. If you believe coolant temp is good what does the ecu say? If you don't have a datalogger at the very least go to the local auto parts store and borrow a scanner. The starter click thing could be battery. Ground. Ignition switch. Connection at the starter. Or starter relay. Start by at least cleaning and tightening connections. On the smoke and soapy water did you actually pressurize the intake? If you didn't that is not a proper boost leak test

Clicking has nothing to do with fuel pump. It won't start because your starter isn't even turning. At least that's how I read it. When you are getting stuttering is this at wide open throttle or just cruising at highway speeds?
Both and I know about the starter issues it's the sputtering I'm worried about
