With summer coming I'm in hurry up mode to make my car healthy so i can enjoy her power but I seem to have a laundry list of things to do xD Another thing I'm trying to check off is this stupid squealing at startup. (Video Below) I already had the alternator belt tensioned and it seems nice and tight. The other thing i read is the crank pulley. Does that noise sound like something a bad crank pulley would make? If it does, how am i supposed to check to see if its bad? I know its usually the rubber that goes bad but i cant really see the pulley because its the one behind the alternator correct? It's too deep in for me to see. Also, besides on startup it loves to yell when its raining out, or cold, or the A/C is on when its cold. I'm tired of my car squealing like a banshee every morning. Thanks guys :hellyeah:

I had a noise like your describing and mine the the A/C compressor and tension bracket bearing, the easy way to check the crank damper is to wobble it and see if it moves and you can check it through the drivers side wheel well.

I just had the crank pulley fail on mine. If you take the belts off, you should be able to wiggle the belt surface of the pulley. If you can take it apart by hand, its damaged and needs to be replaced.

Ugh this is what i was afraid of, theres just so many possibilities and i dont have the money to go and replace all these things. I guess i'll just go digging i guess

When you held it close the ps pump it was louder so that could be your issue, buy a 10 $ stethascope and listen to the different bearings, im damn sire its not your crank pully but your ps pump or alt.

If it was the ps pump wouldnt i hear a noise when turning the wheel? Not at startup?
