I have a 97 Gs-T, automatic, about to reach the 100,000 mile point. And well, from gear to gear, I get a slight kick. It's not at all smooth like a normal/newer car. And it's getting real real bad when I put it in reverse, at times it feels like someone bumped into me when I shift! What could this be? And what do I have to do to fix it? Thanks

check your fluid. Bring the car up to operating temp. Then manually shift through all the gears while sitting still, from park into nuetral, reverse, second, low and then back up to nuetral. Keep the E brake on. Then go check your fluid level. Sounds like it might be low.

I'll check it, but i don't think thats it. I just had the fluid replaced a couple months ago and It's done the kicking before and after.
