Ok, so my car is smoking A LOT. Its bluish smoke and it fills up the whole street. And whenvere i come to a stop, the rpms drop and the car allmost dies, and sometimes it does. But sometimes it will get back to normal after a couple seconds. But my biggest concern is the blue smoke...

no, no overheating issues. We checked compression like 2 weeks ago and it was fine.

we got a foot of snow last nite, so today i was doing brodies in a parking lot in 2nd gear full throttle trying to scare my girlfriend. After 30 seconds or so i was finished and we went on our merry way. By the time i drove a block down the road i noticed the smoke pouring out of the car! it was like a 007 smoke screen and i couldn't make any boost pressure.

After checking among other things, shaft play in the turbo (There was lots!) i removed the old and installed a used turbo i had laying around. Turns out the exhaust compressor wheel snapped right off.

i think you should definitely remove the large rubber intake hose from the turbo, stick your hand inside and check the turbo shaft for play.

white smoke or bluewish smoke is usualy a burning coolant or oil check if your coolant level is low ?????? and if the coolant is mixing with the oil.

also it could be a blown turbo seal / check for shaft play also and clear the oil inside the intercooler pipes . for sure there is some oil there .

GOOD luck :dsm:

I would say check your thermostat. If it were a bad heater core you would be getting a mist on the inside of your windshield. It could be a clogged heating system which could be fixed by flushing your cooling system. Keep your eyes on your local newspapers weekly sales fliers, lots of shops will run a special around this time of the year for sometimes less than half the regular price.

I agree, when my 14b crapped out(exhaust turbine had snapped) it dumped about a quart of oil into my down pipe, and it smoked for like 40 minutes straight after replacing it. ALso do you hear any grinding/scraping noise from the front of your engine(another sign of a blown turbo)?:talon:
