calgary,
After thinking my port job was doing good I was informed that things were not right with my car. After describing things going on It was decided I have a big boost leak. I did test it before but was a little unsure how ht epressure was suposed to hold. i fixed all of the hissing leaks but was leaking into the crank case and kind of thought that was normal.

So tonight is the night. I am going to start off with a compression test and go from there. I have read some massive threads on this issue already so i hope I won;t be asking too many ??. But I have some suspisions already but i will post later to let oyu know what is going on.. I hope its an easy one... TTY

20 psi for a minimum of 30 seconds has always done me right. Testing from the turbo inlet and throttle body inlet helps pinpoint specific leaks. Don't forget to spray it down with soapy water and watch for bubbling.
:D I love these threads...

Im out in the garage now so i can give a play by play... I love wireless networks...

Compression test results.........

Very good

1) 158
2) 158
3) 164
4) 152

Not bad for having 140000kms on it..

So now to the boost leak test.. TTY

Brand new is 178 for a turbo car.... At least thats what it says in the vfaq compression test sheets...

Well did the boost leak test... Lots of bubles in the oil and crank case pressure.. Air comming out of the valve cover breather very fast. Then after I did the port on my turbo i did not get a oil drain tube gastket so i made one from gasket material. I thought it would hold. When I pressured up the system oil started to come out where the gastket is...

Does trhis mean turbo seals nis the big boost leak? Thanx

Now I did the boost leak test on the licp. PCV is bad it was letting pressure into the valve cover and I have a leak in the trottle body BUT it seems to be in the butterfly. Not comming out of the gasket area or anything. Also when I open and close the trottle a bit you can hear the hiss change and even stop? Any ideas?

Any comments on the first problem?

Now I have a leak at the injectors. Is that because it has cooled down now.. I suspect so.. TTY

Warmed it back up injector leaks stopped.. Thats good. Not sure stilll if I have a pcv leak. Now when I have the PCV valve out I does not seam to leak. But the throttle body leak is also maybe only at the front throttle body elbow gasket. Can I just use gasket sealer there..(Silicone) .. Let me know.. Also about the maybe turbo seal.. Thanx for any input..

I assume everyone is out drinking tonight... Thats why not so many posts... TTY
