...after 7000 miles. It was a ACT 6-puck that was 99.00 from SBR. My transmission I had thought broke the sunday before yesterday. Well i get around to actually taking my transmission off, and low and behold my act clutch was broke.

What happened was that the center section of the clutch(with the spindle's on it, that the input shaft goes into) broke off of the main part of the clutch which holds on the 6 pucks on it. The actual rivets broke(all of them) and the 2 sections seperated from eachother.

The clutch went through, one track day of 4-5 launchs, then pretty much normal driving of normal shifting, and WOT of course, but no beating the the clutch, or riding of the clutch.

I will post pics of the POS, after i get out of work, I am just letting everyone know my 6-puck experience from act. I wouldn't recommend there 6-puck to anyone.

I am highly suprised and was wondering if anyone else had anything like this happen to there clutch after so little miles, and hardly any abuse at all.

I thought we weren't supposed to bash vendors here...
and low and behold my act clutch was broke.

BTW- it's "LO and behold" and your clutch was BROKEN. "Broke" is what you are going to be after you pay for repairs. :p

FWIW, 30K miles on my 2600 ACT PP (street disc, though)... no slippage, no problems. Over 100 launches on it before I replaced the disc. The disc was replaced after 25K miles, BTW.

True. BTW, I just noticed in your sig- 2100 Pressure Plate, 6-Puck Clutch...

I'm no expert but is it OK to put a 6 puck with a 2100 PP? That 20G should be putting down some power... maybe it's worth looking into upgrading the clutch to a street 2600 unit? That should be more than enough for your 20G...

i recently ran into the same problem with my 5 pck clutch from capclutch.com . i wonder if its a puck clutch thing??
