ignition acc possition just died completly. need to fix so my tt works PLEASE HELP!!!!!! i looked in both fuse blocks and i didnt see a fuse for it. checked all fuses that could have been related. idont know its got me stumpd. i have a seperate relay block that powers my guages and tt. dont think its related but idk???

Fuses 4,5,9 & 10 on the block next to the driver's door are listed in the FSM as the ACC fuses; swap them all with known good units and if that doesn't fix the problem you can detail what particular items aren't working so that we can narrow the possibilities a bit.

My fuse block cover isn't numbered like that though. my FSM has the numbered diagram but doesn't say that any for are the acc. position. 4=(auto seatbelt) 5=turn signals 9=(4a/t)??what's this??fuse is good 10=(door locks). all these things work when the key is on but my acc is still completly dead.....

Everything works when key is ON, but nothing when on ACC. I think I checked all fuses but I thought there might be a fuse on the switch itself or something hidden in the steering column. I think I'm going to have to change out my ignition switch itself. I dont want to becuase I will have 2 different keys. Somebody PLEASE HELP!!!! Tell me I missed something.....

The ignition switch has two connectors tucked up under the lower steering column cover, a 6 pin connector (three pins in two rows) which we'll call connector "A" and another that has six pins but they are two & a space in one row with 4 in the other row (connector "B"). Pins 3 and 6 in connector A are the ones that are connected by the switch when the key is turned to ACC; Pin 6 connects a large gauge white wire (power in from the main fuse block) & pin 3 connects to a blue wire of the same gauge that goes directly to the power distribution (fuse) block by the driver's foot, connecting to fuses 4, 5, 9 and 10 (radio, cig. lighter, power mirrors, wipe/wash, theft alarm/horn) to main power. If you jumper pins 3 & 6 together at the connector (to the car, not the switch side) & find that you now have power to everything, it's a safe bet that the switch contacts are bad in the ACC position.

Hope this helps... :thumb:
