My '92 Laser RS, just installed OBX header and E-Bay intake with K&N.

Thanks. yeah, she's really clean, '92 with only 90K miles. I got the header off E-Bay, $155 (well really $187 since they charged an arm-and-a-leg for shipping.)

The header is actually really nice, I know it's an N/T and all but it gives it a little more "oomph." Maybe a little small on the collector, but I don't need that much flow on an N/T. Welds are really nice, fits very (suprisingly) well, comes with gasktes (except the downpipe-to-catalytic converter gasket which I got for $4 at AutoZone. Has a little OBX Racing plaque attached to the #1 runner and it maintainst the stock O2 sensor location.

Cons are the manifold gasket they give you isn't perfect (not that bad) and the collector is a bit smaller than the pipe between the catalytic converter and the collector itself, but like I said it gives it a little more get up and go, not bad for the money in my opinion.

I'll be putting a 2.5" test pipe on soon, and 2.5" open exhaust with a straight-through muffler on tommorow (Meinike style, smooth crush-bends, they're not that bad.)

It also sounds pretty cool, a bit deeper tone, I guess the thin stainless steel runners resonate the exhaust pulses a bit more right out of the head. The spring bolts that hold the front and back half together seem to work well also.

Oh, and a note on the install... One, just one, of the bolts is behind a bracket on the front of the engine. The only way I could get it off without removing the bracket (and half the accesories on the side of the engine) was to get a "ratchet-wrench" which is bassically just a closed-end box-wrench with a 12-point ring that's on a ratchet. Fits in between the stud and the bracket and you can get the bolt off by reaching under the header and doing it one "click" at a time.

Here's a pic of my new exhaust with the "fart can" on it. Just got it done.

Really quiet at idle, a low mellow tone when cruising, gets a bit more shrill when you get on it. Doesn't sound too bad though.

Oh and I'd like to say thanks to Paul at Meineke in Brick, NJ. He did a great job on the pipes and consulted me before he did the final weld-up to make sure it was exactly how I wanted it.

Wow, your engine bay is extremely clean. Sounds like your N/T is picking up some added power, good to see more people modding them. Props :thumb:
