My 4G63 SL-R

Looks like a huge technical challenge to me. I like the fact you are going there and doing it. But its just my style.

Good luck with it. Can't to see what kind of track times you put down.

Awesome project. Keep us informed, please.

Definitely will need a windshield of some sort to make it "street" legal.

thats gonna be so bad ass when its done. Very jealous

i really need to move somewhere that has tracks i could use something like that on, long island sucks

VERY interested. I was thinking about the new 5.0 GT stang when I get back from afgan land cause I wanted something new, decent (which it actually is for once) and something thats more reliable (tired of working on shit all the time damn it!)

But now, THAT peaks my interest. Please document the build very well, to include the registration process. I know it will be different for each state but the more info the better! Oh yea, and GOOD LUCK! Looks like a boat load of fun to be had.

That thing is sweet. Hope the 4G63 is not to heavy to effect handling. Keep us updated:thumb:

Where did you get this thought from?

Nah, in this case rwd>awd.

AWD isn't pointless is such a car no living on bottomless statements. Engine maybe on top of its drive wheels and weight transfer may work to its favor sometimes, it's light and will have a good acceleration but traction issues will always rear it's ugly head.

This chassis was designed for a mid rear transaxle it's very obvious a ''cool thought'' of it being awd is a nice fantasy though with that having its benefits and downsides.

Awesome build!

I don't know if it would help for your style of racing, but have you considered using the ALS/SAS system off a non-US Evo? It helps rally guys out a lot.

(You hear it when rally cars drift around corners, keeps you in boost and turbo spooled.)

You could pick up a Evo TwinScroll Mainfold, Turbo, and SAS system for pretty cheap.

Saw the thread title and thought someone was droping a 4G63 in a Mercedes Benz, but this is AWESOME. Just the other day i was thinking the 'ol power to weight ratio thing and thought how cool it would be to have an old '32 roadster, but with a 4G in it. This tops that. Sweet project, good luck and keep it coming!

i saw this car in the end of a video on here, I thought "That was cool!" ...and that was before i found out the power train going in it!

looks really awesome. I bet it's gonna give a real thrill. LOL.

btw, every time I see this thread (4G63 SL-R) I think someone is trying to put a 4g into a new SL-R Mercedes haha.

I'm not sure what kind of racing I'm going to be doing either. I will probably use either Jackal or DSMLink for tuning, NLS and 2stage.

Haha, that was Mr. Peepers home made twinscroll hx35 setup video. The power to weight ration should be pretty healthy at 300hp/1600lb.

Yeah, most people either think Mercedes or a Camera.

When you get her done i mite have to drive down there and see it in action LOL
Hopefully it won't take to long to get her running. Street legal is a whole different can of worms. I'll start a build journal on here once I get a few more parts drop-shipped.

Shit That would be worth the drive anyday for me!!! :) one thing I think I like more then a dsm is when someone takes the 4g63 and puts it in another vehicle like top fuel dragsters.... I think thats pretty sweet. I want to try and put a 4g63 in an old Subaru Justy LOL. I'll have the only Justy TSi awd turbo ;)

thing would haul ass with just a stock 2g (7bolt, t25) combo. E16g should make it absolutely breathtaking, though traction with a light frame like that will be an issue.

I know it's been said by others already, but I also can't wait to see this when it's finished. I only wish there was a way I could ride in it.

That is sick, I was wondering what that was in peepers vid.

E316G all the way. I would make the drive to see this thing in action.
