Couple of vids from getting the 2.3 started today! I've been very nervous about starting it up - luckily no real problems. I do have an exhaust leak I need to track down and my exhaust hanger is rubbing on my driveshaft, but those aren't bad to fix so I'm happy :D

2.3 FFWD Stroker
264/272 HKS cams
HTA35 turbo
Lots more :coy:

Thanks for looking!

wow that dudes got balls 'o' steel to be reaching down infront of that turbo like that, even a couple seconds after running that has to be hot as shit

but the motor sounds awesome

LOL - yeah he does! It's my car and I wasn't about to do that!

Thanks!

what in the world was he reaching for down there?! i mean what are ya gonna do feel the suction of the turbo? Plus if you watch he actually burns his arm once and then reaches down there again!! i mean he could be checking if the lower coolant hose was leaking but you can do that by looking under the car...

He was trying to feel where the leak was coming from so he put his hand down there. OMG

seafoam will also make an exhaust leak worse, or make one that wasn't there before.... just the smallest crack and seafoam will get in there and make it larger

so many people swear by dumping seafoam down your intake, and it's such a bad idea because it clogs up your exhaust and causes cracks and leaks... Carb cleaner dissolves carbon buildup so much better and evaporates completely...
don't get me wrong... I use seafoam when needed, but in the gas tank only

the most common way to check for an exhaust leak is by touch, although that guy must be resistant to pain... you only got about 20 seconds to check, then it's too hot
If I'm desperate I'll squirt a little WD40 down the intake

BTW NICE BUILD! :thumb:

Thanks guys...Here are some pics of my engine bay. Still some things I will be taking out and cleaning up, but this is basically it.

Thanks guys!

I was told to leave the timing cover off. I did try setting the stock one back on when I got the motor back and it doesn't fit - if there is one that fits let me know because that does make me nervous...but the engine builder said nothing goes back on

all it takes is a rock to hit it and bye bye motor.
the clear zak lee one is what i use and it fits over my hks cam gears and hks belt fine.
i did'nt know there was a differance in size but i do know for sure the zaklee one fits.

car would run better if you had the wires hooked up;)

What did you use for the Blue? Powdercoated?

LOL - wires are hooked up...the pics are before she was running.

Yeah it's powdercoated from FFWD

You didn't tell me I was going be on youtube ;-).

Nice work with everything Denny, its so releaving to work on a car that was well put together with all the right parts.

Can't wait till I can spend some time with her on the rollers :).

PS, never use seafoam in anything, ever.
