Couple of vids from getting the 2.3 started today! I've been very nervous about starting it up - luckily no real problems. I do have an exhaust leak I need to track down and my exhaust hanger is rubbing on my driveshaft, but those aren't bad to fix so I'm happy :D

2.3 FFWD Stroker
264/272 HKS cams
HTA35 turbo
Lots more :coy:

Thanks for looking!

Nice job on the engine. That is a de-stroker right? See that you used the Gates Kevlar T-Belt. That's what I am using. $150 ouch! I just built a 2.0 with Mahle pistons. 0.0015 Piston sidewall to cylinder clearance. That scares me! I was planning on leaving off the top timing cover too. I don't see how a rock could hit it, unless you drive around without a hood!! How is the oil pressure? Good luck with it.
Hope you run it in the old fashioned way.

That's a nice motor, man. I can't wait to get my 2.4 done, now. Call it "inspiration". :)

hey on a side note... you're supposed to go .002 (well that's what I did) and Mahle said that would be the minimum (measured over the coating) one Mahle tech even recommended .0025

Why .0015"? Could I have got away with that? the 4032 still expands more than cast

love the blue on the valve cover. I think thats what im gonna do when i get my 94 TSI running. The car is green so i think the blue will look alright.. good work tho man

Thanks everyone! Here are a couple of new pics - had the Brembos installed today!
