Ok so this thread is stupid and I know this isn't accurate but I tested my 0-60 and 1/4 mile with my CD player, heh. Well I have a slightly modded 1.8 mirage 5-spd, and with launching my car I got 0-60 in 7.9 and 1/4 mile in 16.3-4. I though I maybe got a decent 0-60 was because maybe the CD player skipped when I launched, so I did 0-60 without launching and got like 8.3....the decimals are just estimations. I say 7.9 because as I hit 60, when I glanced down I saw 7, and it changed to 8...so yeah....

The times can't be TOOO much off. I wish I had a track somewhere to find out the REAL times or at least a g-tech, but, my car is actually decently quick for only having 120hp...athough it only weights 2200LBS:thumb:

I think the real time is below 8.5 for sure, because I get to 60 pretty quick...well, quicker than I think I should for a close to stock mirage...I saw it lised at 0-60 in 8.7. They must have shitty drivers or something.

2000 Mitsubishi Mirage

Obtained from C&D June, 2000

0-60: 9.4

1/4 Mile: 17

1/4 Speed: 80 MPH

Transmission: Manual

Your CD player isn't an accurate way to read 0-60

That's 1.5 liter.....

I have 1.8 WHOA!...massive displacement eh? well there actually is a bit difference between the two...the lised 0-60 for 1.8 liter is 8.6, and 1/4 mile is 16.5...not to mention I have weight reduction, plus some custom intake stuff, and exhuast + free mods.....

I did both...I got about 16.4 for 1/4 and anywhere between 7.9 and 8.4 for 0-60...7.9 is not right, I know, but I just say 8.1.........

basically you are saying that your .3 tenths slower than a svt focus and run about the same 0-60 as the spec -v? Not doubting you just asking. Oh and the numbers I stated are true.
Andrew

spec v's do 0-60 in like 7.2 according to road and track...

and I thought that SVT focus's were faster than that...I thought they did 0-60 in like 6.5 but I could be wrong, although I'm pretty sure about the spec V. My friend has one, and they're defiantly faster than 8.0 seconds....

I know my times are not accurate, but they're far from 9.4...which is the 1.5 liter time, cause when I had my 1.5 liter, I got 9.5 second 0-60...sounds about right, and I got that from my CD player.....now i have a 1.8 and I'm running in the low 8's when listed in 8.6.....Not to mention I also have better tires, than stock, so stock times are always going to be affected there...

I don't know. I just know I beat a EX civic and I know they do 0-60 in 8.4 and 16.5 1/4 mile.....haha, so there's some more evidence...I'm not saying my 0-60 IS 7.9, thats just the best I was able to get, which I think is off....

Ummm EX civics are slow and dont run to 60 in 8.4 seconds , back when I had my Probe SE(16.7 stock) with only 118hp I put 3+ cars on them. I assure you you dont do 60 is 7.9 seconds. Take it to a track , you will be suprised.

Performance

Engine Size: 1.8 liters

Max Horsepower: 113 HP 5500 rpm

Max Torque: 116 ft-lbs4500 rpm

Taken off of edmunds.com , thats the 1.8 , you dont have 120hp, you have 113hp. So my numbers for a stock mirage were accurate.

Edmunds Report 2000 Mirage

no svt focuses DO NOT do 0-60 2 tenths slower than dsm's. I raced one when I was stock with a miss and badly slipping clutch and I took him by like 50 cars or something. Oh and he had cat back and intake. Id say that both cars do 0-60 in mid-hiogh 7s if they are lucky.
Andrew

ps not to mention the spec-v with full exhaust cams, intake and knock sensor removed they can be a totally different beast...but so can a dsm.

Must I again state, I'm not stock............

And I'm only going from an online thing that the 2002 EX civics do 0-60 in 8.4....They may not, I have no idea.....

what mods do you have? I knew you had some as I responded to your civic vs mirage race.
Andrew

Exahust, stupid custom intake made from stock intake with K&N filter (gives a bit of mid range torque) Some weight reduction, short shifter, and for traction needs (suprisinly I need traction) 205/45/16 Sumitumbo or something like that tires.

I do have more mods but they do not relate to acceleration performence...

I know that's not a lot and I know that the 7.9 is not accurate...I did say that before....but the majority of the times I did receive were around 8.0-8.4. And I know stock is 8.6...I wasn't trying to say that was fast. It's just the whole thing got started from me saying I got 7.9 once...But I think it's kinda decent seeing that mirages performence just flat out sucks....although, the engines respond to turbo mods very well. Hopfully I be starting a custom turbo set-up here in the beginning of summer, but ANYWAY...

My 1/4 mile time is still around stock time, only about a tenth or two better...So the little cheap mods I do have done pretty much only helped bottem end power...I'm good right off the line...second gears ok...third gear sucks, and from there up, oh god.....

Intake and exhaust don't add any power, maybe about 5-6 horses. They aren't gonna lower you from 0-60 in 9 seconds to 7.9

sigh, ok....it's not 9 seconds it's 8.6...BIG DIFFERENCE  haha

And 7.9 was the best time I ever got, not saying that that is very accurate, did I? I said it wasn't accurate from the very first post... I said averages were between 8.0-8.4....and 1/4 mile was only about a tenth or two faster......the time I got 7.9 was not accurate, I know, that I've said it many times...But I got it, somehow...The CD player isn't off by THAT much...but still not accurate, I know...

So just to end this lets just say 0-60 in 8.2 and 1/4 mile in 16.4....

seeing that stock is 8.6 and 16.5....

I'm hopfully going to get ahold of a g-tech soon, and I'm just going to assume it's going to be in the low 8 range...

and when I say 120hp, I'm only estimating...113+5 or 6 is about 120....

120 Hp at the crank , you probaly put down 93-97hp or so to the wheels , you run high 16s.

Intake and Exhaust is not a real mod.

P.S.- GTECH times aren't accurate neither.

Your 0-60 time is 8.9 to 9 flat , if you run 7.9 to 60 then your in the low low 16s , to maybe 15.9 , which is not the case with only 113hp.
