I have searched for a few weeks now and cannot find a for sure answer to my issue. My car has sat in the garage for almost 3 years being built. I recently installed 3 gauges but am having multiple electrical issues. All of these items worked prior to parking the car.

I have no wipers.
I have no dash lights.
Tach does not work

So far I have replaced the dimmer switch, that did nothing. I cannot find any blown or melted fuses. I tested the dimmer switch plug and it says I have no power, and also says it is an open circuit.

Im to the point of beating my head against the wall on this one, has anyone ever come across multiple problems like this before?

Maybe Luv2Rally will join in. Yes, it's not uncommon for multiple electrical problems to occur, especially if it is circuit or harness related.

A few suggestions to start: Make sure you are dealing with a full 12 volts from a new, or fully charged battery. No, a power inverter is not the same. I know you are looking for the reason you don't have power, but don't forget, that without a ground, no circuit will have power. Check you main ground points, including the one near the firewall, behind the radio.

Test the fuses under the hood and in the kick panel with your test meter. Visual testing doesn't count.

There is a good chance in 3 years that a critter used your wiring harness for bedding material, so DISCONNECT the battery, and peel back the harness wrap and start looking for damaged insulation.

I did some more work last night and found a few loose grounds, along with a random power wire that was not connected. I peeled the looms back to check for bedding and did not find any.

So far I have whittled it down to the following:
No power to the radio
No dash lights
Passenger window does not work.
-The passenger window takes the specialty block fuses, those can be found at advanced or autozone cant they?

I do need a new battery, it is weak at 10.2 amps at the max. But it is plenty to turn the headlights on and leave them for about 20 min and not dim. I am still trying to find that ground behind the radio, it was a junk wire mess when I got the car back there because an aftermarket radio was put in.

Sounds like progress.

The ground behind the radio is on the passenger side, bolted to the top of the floor pan. It has several black wires running together into eyelet terminals.

The radio fuses (one for switched 12v and one for clock 12v) are under the hood.

The dash light fuse is in the driver's fuse panel.

I've never had to buy the HD fuses, so I don't know if you can get them at the auto stores.

Keep up the detective work. You're almost there!

Will do and thank you. Ive been digging through my chiltons manual for hours trying to trace wires. Part of the problem with the radio is the install by the previous owner, they just twisted and taped the wires together.....I had to go back and resolder everything.

Also at least on my car there is no radio ground in the factory harness itself, the radio is case grounded. So i blew my interior fuse once because i didnt notice that when I put the radio in (did it in the dark, after work, etc). So I had to run a ground wire to the frame and put it under a screw. No issues after that. I thought case grounding was kind of dumb but it is what it is.

A little update for how far Ive gotten. I have the dash lights working now(fuses were in the wrong place). Interior lights are now working(other than bad door switches). My wipers now work(no idea what made them work).

I am still having issues with the following:

Zero power to the radio. The antenna was deleted by a previous owner so I am trying to find a way to ground the old wires to see if that works.

Sunroof has no power and does not function.

Fuel pump does not work after the rewire kit was installed. For the fuel pump, I have checked the fuses, tried three different good relays, re soldered all of my connections, double checked my grounds, and then confirmed the pump actually works(direct wire). I have cycled the CAS a few times to see if it can get the pump to prime when turned to "ON" with the key. Still nothing on this one. This is the major issues I am having and would like to get it fixed before anything.

A common problem to check if you havent already is the connections to the back of the interior fuse box. They tend to get loose over time and cause problems like you're describing. I'd check and try to crimp any loose ones down.

If you need to get the fuel pump working while you sort out these other issues, trigger the relay (that I'm assuming you installed in the rewire) directly from the ECU. For a 2g it's pin 8, it's the ground for the relay coil. This will bypass the fuel pump relay and the factory power supply wiring to it, and from it to the pump. If that doesn't do it, the ECU is broken, or not calling for the fuel pump. If you want, you can check for ground on pin 8 while the engine is cranking before doing the work. If it's not working, I would check to see that the ECU is powering up. The CEL at key on is normally a decent indicator of that, but with all of the things that don't have power in your car it might not mean much if it's out.
