muffler vs stock piping

Ok so here's the situation, I have a muffler sitting at my house and the inlet for that is an inch bigger than my piping, can I still have it put on somehow without buying new piping?

If you have the money any muffler shop can do what ever you want. They have all the equipment to adapt the pipes.

Yeah, problem is I'm not going to a shop I'm having a family friend do it. I'm sure he'll know something to do cuz he welds for a living and builds cars....I'm hoping for the best

Just go to ANY autoparts store and get an adapter and a few clamps. It would be dumb to go to a shop for something that simple.

Just find out the muffler inlet dia and your current dia and get the apropriate adaptor. The "family friend" will be able to take care of the welding after that.
