I have on hand a magnaflow performance muffler, not really my style but it will have to do. I just need help deciding how the muffler is going to be put on. I have a couple photos. let me know what you think. After this muffler, I plan on putting a HKS ti carbon muffler. To add I was going to weld the muffler the jdm style way but the way its shaped i am just not sure.

If this link doesnt work I will try something else. It wont let me upload pictures. It says upload failed

I'm not a fan of the muffler coming straight out but in this case with the Magnaflow it would look better. When you get the HKS Carbon-TI i would have it canted to the side.

This was during the time where i was getting no feedback for my electrical problem thread and i tried everything so I been waiting and got bored. If you were in my shoes, you would understand.

and whats the dsm way?

Straight works... May draw less attention to scuff it and apply high temp flat black. Just a thought.

I hate when the muffler shows like that... I just changed my exhaust around to make sure everything was hidden and even then I painted mine with high temp flat black like dsm-unleashed said too...

What a shame, Magnaflow mufflers sound tits on a DSM! Hey, it's what you want though. So what is the "JDM way"?

Yea definitely go straight with that type of muffler. It would look idiotic crooked.

Yeah its a great sounding muffler, but hey if i dont like it i can always switch. And from what i heard is the jdm way is when the muffler comes out up at an angle. I am sure you've seen it before.

Yea its only JDM if you actually have a JDM muffler like an HKS Ti Carbon or something that is super expensive and comes like that from the factory. Magnaflow is an American muffler and it looks dumb crooked. Just trying to save you all the BS you'll hear going crooked with it.

This is the only type of muffler that should be crooked.

Not a DSM but you get the idea:

My friend who bought my old GSX just bought this exhaust and it looks great but only because its meant to be that way.

because I think the typical DSM way would be to zip tie the muffler on :p

I meant function over form. Go with the way that works the best, not they way that you think looks cooler because thats what everyone else is doing with their "jdm" cars. Weld it on. If its straight because thats how it fits best, so be it. If its angled because thats the only way it would fit on your setup, then angle it. But don't go out of your way to point your muffler up just because that's the current "jdm" fad. That's what I meant by the DSM way.

Sure there are probably some kids who might try jb welding, duct taping, or zip tying a muffler on, but that's a NOT the DSM way. That is the young and the ignorant way and that kind spans all automotive platforms.

Amen... :applause:
