mud flaps on a 1g???

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

So what are the chances of getting one of you lucky few that have factory 1g mud flaps to trace a pattern for me or send me some dimensions? I have given up on trying to find OEM flaps and would like to make my own based off the stock dimensions.

I think this would be really helpful for the rest of us that decide to either go the universal Rally Armor or Ikea routes!

That's actually a great idea, and I don't think it has ever been asked. To take it a step further (damnit, Lando), would any of you consider sending a set to a CF vendor for molding?

Just had to suggest CF didnt ya! LOL! I was dead set on ditching my CF hood until the GB popped up for the 1ga pop-ups covers got started. Now CF mud flaps! I hate you! JK!

I have seen CF EVO Mud flaps on ebay, they dont look to have holes drilled in them, and actually looked to be just flat sheets of CF. Their were some with Ralli//Art on them as well but they wanted crazy money for them.

BTW Quit slacking and mount up your RA's! Im still waiting on pics! LOL!

I really need to, but I don't have a garage and DO have a wife. Time is at a premium. ;)

I will volunteer my set of mud flaps.
Lets set something up with a Vendor or Freelancer, who can make some nice quality clones.
That way every one that wants some nice OEM mud flaps can have them.
Carbon Fiber does sounds nice, but they would still have to say Talon.:thumb:

LandoAWD: PM me details if you can find some one to make us some.
I'll ship them right out.

Ha ha, I haven't been on here for ages! I actually got mine off a local junkyard for $2. In the process of getting them off I got bit by a black snake that wouldn't move from under the driver's side front flap. I soon found out it had babies under there that tried slithering up my pant leg. Good Times!

OEM clones is the best idea ever! I gave up looking after 3 years of searching for them in decent condition. For a vendor to make them, why not STM? They have awesome fabrication skills and they're one of the few vendors that keep prices reasonable. They also have their reputation for quality so I would feet pretty confident buying from them. Well, when I have the money for them that is... :D

I'll send them a Pm and ask them about it.
I asked one of the carbon fiber vendors about it, and they said carbon fiber would get damaged too easily to use it as a materiel for mudflaps.
Lets see what STM says about it.:hmm:

I bought brand new ones from someone who had them in the original box. Put them on my winter car. They actually do a really good job of keeping crap off my car. My dad's talon looks like hell, while mine stays clean.

I have 3 out of 4 1g Eclipse mudflaps. Unfortunatly 1 of the fronts was missing off a parts car. Been looking to take some time to find material to make the missing and fab up a bracket.

I do like the rally armor's though...

Maybe Steele rubber parts. They normally do reproduction gaskets, weather seals, etc. for old cars and they formulate their own rubber. Maybe you could convince them to make reproduction 1g door seals too! Actually, first the door seals, then the mud flaps. Larger demand for the door seals for sure and it might entice them into the DSM 'classics'. They do NASCAR special orders so who knows what they can do for us?

I'm still sitting on this full set of mudflaps.
Can't find a vendor to make us some OEM replica's!
Any one else have an idea of who I should contact, to make us some?

What are the chances of you tracing them up and scanning them in, or taking a few pics and dimensioning them, OR sending them to someone who wouldnt mind spending a few minutes to draw and dimension them up in Cadd?

Id rather make my own, personally and would just like the factory template to work from.
