i am currently tryingt to fix up my 420a with a few perfromance mods and had a question.

I was interested in the msd coil pack for 420a but noticed that i most pictures the plug connector is on the opposite side of the stock pack......if mounted backwards would the firing order of the spark plugs be different or will my connector wires have to be extended to reach the other side of the pack.................if anyone knows what im talking about let me know

Yeah, not sure what you're talking about here. There exactly the same...but red :thumb:

Just check the connector on your stock one to verify whether you have the round pins or flat ones...95's and early 96's had the round pins, the rest of the years after all had the flat pin design....so it's always good just to double check before ordering.

Don't quote me on this, but I think the bolt pattern is a perfect square. If that's the case, you could install it with the connector on any side. LOL

If it's the MSD coilpack for the 2GNT or the Neon, it will work. Just be sure to check your harness to order the correct connector - flat pin/round pin.

You say "performance mods", if that's what you're looking for and your current coil pack is ok, I would definitely spend the money on something alittle more beneficial. Like a lightened under drive pulley, or Cold air intake, maybe exhaust. Because everyone I've heard that has purchased an aftermarket coil pack hasn't felt any difference in performance.

It's still something nice to add alittle flare to your engine bay. :thumb: Either way, if you do replace it as stated before, check for the pin style.

You are correct, I have a VC sitting right in front of me, and it is a perfect square. :thumb:

yup...but that doesn't mean turning it around the other way would be any help :p

Save your money and spend it else where like suspension or a CAI if you dont have one. I have a CAI, headers and exhaust and so far it hasnt made too much of a difference in performance. If you invest in your suspension, you will notice that much more that you will with a coil pack. I've been fond of the saying "Learn to drive a slow car fast and then drive a fast car faster". The 420A engine takes a lot of money to make decent power, although it can be done. I'm currently saving up to redo my top end for a little extra power on the street since it is my daily driver. Although it would look pretty cool to have under the hood.:hellyeah:
