Skimming through the AWD swap thread, I didn't see too much on the topic. I've seen a few threads here and there, but didn't really answer my question the way I wanted.

I did the AWD swap. The carrier bearing brackets on the GSX were rusted crap and broke off in chunks as I tried to get the spot welds off. Now I have "no way of mounting it".

Now on the front carrier bearing (near the o2 sensor), I've heard of people taking studs/screws and screwing it in that way. Would that work or has anyone tried it? If not, what are some other suggested ways?

The rear carrier bearing (near the LSD) is a different beast, since I really needed that piece. Is there anything I can drill or anything of the sort to make it work?

I appreciate any input.

Here's some pics, since they're worth a thousand words

HOLY RUST WTF

Being a fellow AWD Swapper myself, ill help this cause

Ive got a front carrier bearing that i wont be using, pay shipping and its yours. Ive also got the front driveshaft mount that goes along with it.

MAN THAT THING IS F'ING RUSTY=0. As for your question, I would just keep looking for another car to get that piece. I would say not to jerry rig that part of your swap becuase you really don't want to get the swap done and than you have vibration problems becuase you did'nt find the factory braket. Good luck and please spray all those pieces with some rustoleum becuase DAM those are sooo rusted! LOL

If you were close to me i would just give you a spare driveshaft that i have laying around man. I hate rust !

Yeah..I got a nice clean southern gst shell from another member..but my gsx was rusting out...so I got a rusty conversion parts. Probably nothing a wire brush couldn't fix.

As for the brackets, ill send a pm maybe. I'm really concerned about the rear bracket then the front
