Motor Swap Questions

ok i was driving home from my future school UTI and after touring there campus an everything an seeing motor swaps happening i was thinking is it possible to put a first or second gen turbo motor in the third gen eclipse? if so has anyone done it? this is just a really random ? that i would like to kno the answer to so thanks in advance

i really see no point in that since they are butt ugly and also heavier than the 1gs and 2gs. but like they say anything can be done with plenty of time and money.

in all practicality no it aint happening. The motor sits opposite of ours I believe just like the evo. The 3gs have the 4g64, similar to what is in the 2g spyder(just reversed as I stated earlier). Maybe you could swap an evo head/turbo on there though and have a badass 2.4 one wheel wonder.

No it's not possible for a good gain/money ratio.

Might wanna look at twin turboing the 3g tho because it has the same bottom end as a vr4/3000gt. The 6g72 (this is according to a mitsu rep I talked to).

i wouldnt call it impossible, but it'd be very hard to do, theyre diff engines, so they wont match up on the mounts and the tranny, get a real DSM, sell the 3G

ya i figured as much, n i wont buy a 3g, ive owned a 1g an 2g an love the turbo haha but unfortunatly i am now selling my 2g due to finacial problems so thanks, i was just wondering if it was possible

possible? yes. pain in the ass? HELLS YES!!! but i wouldnt call it impossible, its doable, just no point to do it. a 3G is not a good platform for it, thats all
