I've got a 95 gst, but sadly i wrecked it. I can explain how it happened in one word too....women.
. it wasn't to bad of a wreck only the front driver corner got smashed in. the engine and everything is still good.
I'm buying a 97 gst rolling chassis. it's wire tucked with the fuse box in the passenger side air bag compartment. is putting my engine in that car gonna be harder? what should i watch out for?
Also i need some advice about what to do with my engine, it's got 125k on it. Bone stock block and head. Should i get the block and head shaved down a little to make it a straight smooth surface? Also i did a compression test on the car when it was cold and my commpression was 170-180. Should i keep the stock bottom end and just re-ring the pistons? or should i buy after market rods, pistons, rings and bearings? Cylinder walls are smooth and not nicked up or gauged. But the pistons have a ton of carbon build up. What should i use to clean all that off and not damage the pistons? Same thing with the combustion chambers and valves. They are caked with carbon. I'm not planning to build the head...or should i do that too? Lemme know what you guys think i should do...i don't have a fortune to spend either. Looking for the biggest bang or my buck.By the way i wanna run about 18-22 psi eventually. i'll be running the stock turbo for the break in then switch turbos.
If anyone needs any parts the their car lemme know. everything is good except for the front driver corner.
