Seems like I have stock motor mounts except for the one beside the timing belt because its red and I'm gussing its a insert. If you look at this picture, which mount is the one next to my bov and right above the tranny? Also If I want replace all my mounts, should I go with stock or what? I can take closer pictures tomorrow if need.

i have poly urethane mounts and they arnt rough or anything. since you have all the work you should upgrade at least i would. the mount your asking about is for the trans. you have two motor and two trans mounts.

Can't really see the mount you're wanting identified. I can't tell its black, so could be the stock mount. If you want a smooth, comfortable ride, go with stock mounts. If you're looking for something for a higher power engine, and longer mount serviceability life, and don't mind a little extra ride vibration, get the poly-mount inserts. I got these on my spyder, they're not bad. And for all out racing, solid aluminum mounts, a lot of extra vibration.

You don't have to press anything in or out. The stock mounts have rubber mounted to a metal ring. Cut the rubber out and then use a hack saw blade or sawzall to cut the metal ring from the inside. From there you can easily insert the new polyurethane mount insert into the mount bracket. It helps to freeze the poly insert before inserting it. With some kits the front and rear roll stop will just be a little insert that goes on the outside of the mount, some will have a complete insert that goes inside of it. There are quite a few write ups on this if you use the search button to search for them.

I did some research and it seems that some of the inserts are spilt or something and I might need to retain some rubber(can't find the link again). Can you guys explain this to me if it makes sense? And can I change them with the motor and tranny still in car?

I would go with the energy suspension kit. They have big washers that actually squeeze the insert into the mount, the prothane does not. Yes you can install them with the engine in the car. Just remove them one by one.

I would go with prothane for sure. The kit is around $90. 1g kit comes with four solid mounts but the 2g kit comes with 2 solid mounts and 2 partial inserts. The picture above are the partial inserts for the 2g.

You can also go but a tube of window weld and fill the mounts. It will take them like a week to fully cure, but it works very well. There is also a 2 part polyurethane that you can get from a website called DASCARPLASTICS.COM . They have all kinds of different types, some real soft, some real hard. I bought a half a gallon of it a while back for like 20 bucks and it was enough to do 10 sets of mounts. You just cover one side with cardboard, mix the 2 parts together and pour it in. It will harden fully in about 5 minutes.
