Just hit 800 miles on a newly rebuilt motor

I have been on the highway 300 of those miles. Been doing my best to stay under 4lbs of boost. Hit 8 or 9 lbs occasionally on accident. Staying below 4k Rpms.
I will be Changing the oil to mobil one 5w-20 at 1000 miles

How should I change my driving habits now, and what are key things to look for/adjust/change at this point. I am running too much fuel pressure right now, my mixture is off, cause I have a walbro pump and no way to adjust. I'm getting link this week to fix that, but other than that. What now?
 
Link is not going to change your fuel pressure btw your going to need an afpr. and ive always thought you were supposed to run an engine hard after its rebuilt. But ive never rebuilt one, so i dont really know.

And I need the link to adjust my air fuel ratio. Can't it do that? I don't a lot about fuel pressure. But it's at about 43psi. I'm pretty sure I can use link to utilize that pressure.

Hard break in, fast motor but short life

Soft break in, longer life, but sacrifice a little in power.

I want it to last longer, I'm not trying to make a
800 horse drag car. Just trying to have a strong daily driver with a nice pull.

a hard break in doesn't always mean a shorter life.

you need to seat the rings properly, vary the loads, break it in under the conditions its going to be driven in. how can you expect it to perform well otherwise?

and i would have personally changed the oil 300 miles ago, again at 15, then at 3K.

but that's just me and my personal views, and I've only rebuilt two motors, so I'm sure someone else with better info will chime in eventually. :thumb:

link will help you with your air fuel ratio(as long as all maintinence is up to date). I believe, I still havent used it yet though so im no pro. I think you change how often your injector pulses (I believe link has an option to autofix this with a log of idle to WOT if you have an afr guage logged) you definitly have to change some things if you are using diffirent injectors. Also I would think that just changing your fuel pump should not make your car run rich as long as the PSI stayed the same(but again im no pro).
 
All what (krh195) said is true..
But, an After market Fuel pump is a killer for your Stock Fuel Regulator.
So your Stock Fuel Regulator will not hold your Fuel Pressure.
That's why you need an After Market Fuel Pressure Regulator,,, It will hold the Pressure and you can be able to adjust the Pressure to Stock.
 
I have an obx after market fuel pressure regulator and I have played with it and it only varies between 42 and like 48 psi. Is that enough or should I get something else? It's down at about 43 right now and
I'm idling at 15 according to my aem wideband. Should I be able to fix the rest with link or will I need another fuel pressure regulator like aeromotive or something?
 
The engine was also changed twice already. My next change is at 1k then 3k. How should I be driving it now? High Rpms? Low boost? High boost?
 
From what I know, the first 300 miles was suppose to be alternating rpm with some boost, no babying. After 300 should be normal driving with factory boost.

Often then not, aren't turbo. So that's really what I was asking. Looks like I need to change the oil and beat the shit outta it. But I'm going to be iffy until I tune it. So I may keep Babying it until I tune it. Then put in some regular valvoline for a couple
Hundred miles. Beat the shit outta it. Then put some synthetic in.
