Opposed to turbo you have an extra boost whenever you need it and a definite HP. Hope this info is helpful for your decision.
we all know or should know that when you use racing gas or any other more combustible fuel you will get a better time that let's say if you were using pump gas.my friends boosted eclipse made 227 whp on pump and made almost 30 more hp on race gas.who cares how he made 30 more hp, as long as he made it.just my.03 centsspeedy13 said:I'm with GS on this one.whoever sais nitrous is not a form of HP is just haiting or misinformed.who cares how your making power as long as you make it.Besides yeah nitrous is very dangerous if your not carefull and get a little happy with it.But so is an AFC tuner.
so turbo isn't really adding that much power when youre at the track using c-16 or 103 octane right?we all know or should know that when you use racing gas or any other more combustible fuel you will get a better time that let's say if you were using pump gas.my friends boosted eclipse made 227 whp on pump and made almost 30 more hp on race gas.who cares how he made 30 more hp, as long as he made it.just my.03 cents

Yes im a retart, even though that shit happend to a friend of mine, ive seen this shit happen and you think you know everything because you have it, it dont mean shit you ####. You proble dont even know how to do a compression check, let alone check your oil level.
Im not saying that shit is gonna happen, its just there is a risk if you dont tune it properly
GSGoinFast said:actually dude, race gas, well higher octane gas, is harder to combust. its used because it doesnt combust as easily, there fore it is more resistant to detination. the race gas itself wont give you more power, but with race gas you can bump up the shot of nitrous or raise the boost a little higher without detonating.

well my compression is 200-210-200-200, so i knew how to do that. i only installed the nitrous, intake, header, udp, gauges, s-afc, shortshifter, and shifter bushings myself, the oil level is the next on my list of "Challenging things i need to learn how to do"i dont think your a retarD at all. im just telling you what happens in most situations, and not relying all my information on what happened to one person. nitrous gets a bad rap because of people like you who go around telling everyone there engines gonna blow or your gonna fry your piston rings, or your going to blow your intake welds from it because thats what The Fast and The Furious said.
Dwnshft said:No trash talking pls. Don't say I'm misinformed or anything but that's what a friend of mine experienced. How old is this kid anyway 11, 12. I respect your opinion.
sorry if i came off as an asshole, but as you can see above, i get a little aggitated when people spread misinformation about nitrous. im not sure why your friend had to spray in higher gears, unless he was running a very big shot with slicks, then i could see why. and im 18, although im told that i act 11 or 12 all the time, so it was a good guess.

Dwnshft said:Oh ya it's a big shot of nos at about a 130 shot on salt flats, have you been there? all the way we're shooting for land speed on flats at 180 mph club on 4g63t engine. So that's our experienced, we don't do 1/4 mile track that much we shoot for land speed record.

My complaint with nitrous is its not constant. I would go with a turbo over nitrous anyday, and I bet every 2gnt'er would say they would have got a turbo if they had the money. Nitrous is your cheaper exception to boost.
For those who think a shot of NO2 is going to blow the head gasket...... WTF do you think boost is going to do?

nelapse said:IMO you guys whine too much and GSgoingfast acts like a spoiled brat.
Instead of whining just list the pros and cons.
Turbo's are infinite power, crank it up as much as you dare, you dont have to fill them up.
cons: they cost a lot, the can blow your engine, kills your gas milage
nitrous: pro) Best HP for the buck, can save you gas compared to longterm turbo use (only use when you need)
Cons: Have to fill them up, can blow your engine, have to upgrade to get more power.
They both are great, i would start with nitrous then work my way up to turbo. You have to build up your engine to use either one really effectively. GSgoingfast only has success because his engine isnt as old as everyone elses. it will catch up with him.
But if you build up your internals for nitrous they will be able to with stand turbos as well.
just my 0.02
my engine is what, 0-4 years newer, ok. but its still got 76,000 miles on it. i dont think its gonna "catch up" to me as im not doing anything that will be hurting it. compression is still great, so im not worried about anything.
UDLUZE said:With a stock motor, I say spray it. Install a fuel pump, colder plugs, and use a jet calculator to determine correct jet sizes, and spray it. Yeah, u won't have the power all the time, but its easier to tune, cheap and a with a 75-100 shot will beat alot of stage1 and 2 2gnts. And yes the stock internals will easily hold 100 shot from the jug. Turbo is nice with a built bottom end, but just a tease with a stock one. Your car will be faster and more reliable with bolt ons and a shot rather than a cheap turbo kit.
