420A direct NOs or intercooler spray?

since everybody talking about putting Nitrous in their car i have a question my self
What would you guys prefer to use HP gain being the goal. intercooler spray or direct?

Direct is right at the combustion chamber compared to the intercooler sprayer that is well outside of the motor all together. this is if horsepower gain is your goal.

I personally want to go with an intercooler sprayer, just to chill off the intercooler before a run.

Me and my friends were discussing this last month, weather or not using the sprayer on the fly was as benificial or not.

On the 420a its air is measured at the map on the intake manifold, but on the 4g63, the nitrous being sprayed (while driving) is an unmetered amount of air coming in.

Any thoughts on this as well as the original posters questions?

Your right but any nitrous kit accomidates for that by either adding more fuel(wet kit) or by having a vaccume line hooked up so that fuel pressure is raised. If your boosted too you DO NOT WANT TO USE A DRY KIT!! One you will be relying on stock injectors and fuel setup to supply fuel for the increased oxogen but on top of that nitrous cause boost creep of 2-3psi about. SO your 6psi setup will get a xhp shot of nitrous plus become a 8-9psi boost only setup.

ON another note those o2 spary kits are a waste. just spray into the pipe before the tb. You will crack your IC if you try to use the IC spray setup the wrong way. It's not meant to be used to cool back down a IC even though you would think it was. It's for spraying right before a run like stated before to keep it cool. Think about coming inside on a really cold day and then putting your hands under really cold water...Yeah not good just in this case it's the other way around.

Just to make it more clear, I was conversation with that I had with my friends was reffering to intercooler sprayers being used (while driving) on the fly as being an uncontrolled amount of air on a car with a maft translater (such as the 4g63).

Thus it should only be used right before a run to cool the air about to come into the intercooler.

I just wanted to see if anyone had any answers for this.

A maft setup is diffrent from a stock 4g63 maf. You use a GM MAF and a signal translator to hook up the MAF after the turbo and IC thus making it irrelevant anyway how much you inject at the IC(tuning wise) and that last stament is exactly right. Just do a search you'll see how everyone says that the mod was useless. If you want to effectively cool your intake charge temps then go water/alky injection. Snow performance makes some nice kits and people have claimed to have been able to run 3psi more and more aggressive timing maps with it.

You would need a turbo system first before even considering 1/2 of the items. Think people. Or, OP.

Very true but seeing how he has a portfueler setup a built engine and stage 3 spec clutch I think that a turbo system is next on his to do list and he's trying to get info on this now so when it comes he can make a educated descision

my fault, I know the difference betweena mass air flow translator and mas air flow sensor, the extra T was a typo,

Maybe its just me, but I feel that nitrous express didn't do enough to inform people on how the kit should be used correctly.

The whole reason me and my friends even had this disscussion was because a friend of mine tried running the IC sprayer while driving, and yes it made the car faster, but some of us thought it wasn't being calculated.

have your questions been answered?

I never new a "stage 3" was a spec. for a clutch.
