Ok I got evoscan setup correctly, and tonight i tried to go out and get my first logs but everytime I hit the start button and this error comes up. ( Error Openport2 USB cable not responding) Then it tells me to unplug the cable from my computer and retry, but after doing that 10 times still nothing. What am I doing wrong? Im using v2.7 should I try a different version? Thanks guys

I am having the same problem here. I don't think it's your cable, most likely it's your computer. You probably don't have framework net 2.0 something or another program set up right.
Im having problems because I can't install that program because my laptop is 64 bit instead of 32.... so much other junk!

Now I have the cable sitting in my car for 4 months. Evoscan crap all over my hardrive and my car running like crap!!! So you can see my frustration level.

Its not your laptop thats 64 bit, it's your operating system. Create a partition on your hard drive, install the 32 bit version of your operating system and then run evoscan off that.

Thanks I'll try that!!! This is gonna bite me... with the cable in my car for months and nothing to log and it was just a little problem!

I don't know if this helps or not but i believe this "framework net 2.0" file installs when you install service pack 2 if you are running XP.

try different usb ports. If that doesn't work, then when you have it plugged into go to your device manager and see if it even recognizes that something is plugged in to your USB port.

did it work?

What Openport 2.0 cable drivers did you use? Where did you point the PC when you plugged in the cable and it asked for drivers? You MUST install ECUFlash FIRST, that is where the drivers are.

Try using v2.5.

I'm running XP as well and couldn't even get v2.7 to open up. From what I've heard, v2.7 still has some bugs to be worked out.

Just a thought, hope you get it to work.

From my experience it has nothing to do with drivers or software or hardware.

My experience says it has to do with the weak connector at the OBDII. Sometimes if I wiggle it it will work and then in the middle of a pull will disconnect.

Weird thing is if I use my 1.3 cable from dsmchips.com its connects every time and never comes lose. the connector seems a little more solid and the head is designed differently.

I will get some pics of both and post them up.

What I will do normally is log with my 1.3 and flash with my 2.0

I know dude, ive had evoscan for almost a month and still can't get it to work. My car is running fine but im trying to upgrade my turbo and supporting mods, and with out a logger im screwed. WHERE ARE THE EVOSCAN GURU'S LOL

One way i think will work is buy an older model laptop and go from there! What laptop are you trying to log on?

Run 2.5, 2.7 has problems on dsms. If you look at your email DSMchips advises you to run 2.5 and not 2.7

Buying an older laptop won't fix anything. An older laptop would only mean that you have older obsolete technology which in no way would affect the compatability of the software. If it is in fact a problem with the laptop then it is with the Operating system and possibly the drivers installed. You could downgrade your operating system or as I said earlier create a partition on your hard drive and install multiple operating systems. Make sure you are running the proper version (32 bit or 64 bit).
