I tryed searching this but i mostly got blanks here.I just bought a 95 tsi for a really good price and all but im wondering what upgrades could i do i since it is auto what is the difference? So far i have a 14b,S-AFC and thats about it im putting it together as small little as i can any suggestions on what i could i do?

this wont really make it a whole lot faster but it will be much funner alrite since yours is an auto you should try to find a high flow screen for the tranny so it engages harder, kinda like buyin an upgrade clutch for a manual except if you redline and it shifts from 1st to second even without mods you will break the tires loose :D just a fun tip

shift kit and end clutch kit so you don't burn up your stock end clutches stalling it up.

Yep, but I'd go with the engine mods first, then once you are making the power, work on the tranny.
I only partially agree. Once he's already making the power, it might be too late for the tranny. An upgraded tranny cooler is a must, and the earlier the better. Shift kit is nice but not critical. End clutch is cheap and easy, but there's no harm in waiting for the stock one to poop out first.

True, I was just trying to keep him from getting stuck on the side of the road. Tranny cooler I agree though is a must.

The weakest link to a auto dsm is the transmission obviously. So why not address that first?

I hear ya. But a thrashed end clutch usually just means no O/D.

BTW, 12.2 @ 113? Very nice!

Thanks. That was on the good old stock engine and transmission and it blew up the next run, LOL. Soon as they get electricity and water and gas where I live again I am heading back in to finish breakin in the new motor and get her tuned in and see what she can pull. :thumb:

well i apperciate the advice yeah i just bought a 14b no shaft play looks good and a turboxs bov, and im going dsmlink, as for the tranny im gonna be purchasing the shift kit and shift end clutch kit i think thats what it is? and a fmic, fuel pump, injectors, aem fpr. you guys have helped thanks alot more suggestions from those how know are still apperciated :thumb:

alrite if you know how an auto works internally you knows theres a screen in the flow of the tranny fluid going to the different parts that engage the clutch packs so on and so forth anyway all the screen in really tehre for in a stock tranny is to partly to further filter the fluid but more important to stop up the flow a little so it wont engage so hard because its dangerous to burn the tires all the mtime obviously you could actually just take the screen out but id go with spending 20 bucks to get a high flow to you have some restrictiopn or you wont have any tires left ROFL

yeah i had the written down the flow screen i was gonna start reading up on that thanks for the info back though yeah ill go ahead and spend the extra little bit for it

Tranny Cooler! I bought one about a year ago, but like a dumbass let it sit in my garage for about nine months before installing it. My tranny just blew a couple of months ago and I had to have it replaced to the tune of $2500. A tranny cooler might've saved it-- heat is the number one enemy of automatic transmissions.

alright i dont know what you guys problems are but that is all true ive put them in myself first in an old ford truck with a 350 that my dad converted to auto, then next in a 94 grand am for my bro because he wanted to have fun it does work and i know from experience so dont post shit about me when you dont know yourself

Your genius idea is not a mod for a dsm auto tranny. You go ahead and do this in your car and we will be glad to help you when you get on here after a week and ask us why your tranny doesn't want to go into gear. We have alot more experience with these transmissions than you do, quit spreading misinformation!!!!

Do you also suggest that he takes his valvebody out and takes some carbide bits to it and ports it out himself too to make it shift harder? Gain some more experience before you go telling people to do stupid stuff that is going to ruin their cars. Ruin yours all you want, but don't mess with other peoples stuff. Some people on here will actually not realize your stupidity and listen and mess their car up! :notgood:

haha ruin it my ass that weak ass tranny in the grand am still hasnt gone out and that was almost 5 years ago same with the one in the truck but thats only been 2 years this was meant to be an easy thing to do porting his valve body wouldnt be easy and how do you even think that it would ruin it all that does is engage his tranny a lil harder when you step on when at idle when sitting at a stop light for instance there is almost no difference and it wont be wearing at your clutch packs because at idle the torque converter doesnt have enough pressure to do anything even if you took the screen off and i cant do this to my dsm i hate automatic i just know about it mines manual

If he wants his tranny to engage harder he will get a shift kit. Leave it be, there is no need to argue this here, if you want to argue about this pm me! No need to ruin this guys thread and get it locked.

yeah i was reading about were the tranny can get real hot and so forth where do they actually offer a cooling device for i, like any links would help?
