Looking for some advice from those of you who have been there before.
I'll save you the trouble of checking my profile.
97 TSi AWD Turbo
K&N cone air filter
Extreme PSI intake pipe
Dave Brody pipe from the stock intercooler
1G BOV - uncrushed
Hallman MBC - 15 psi
After market boost gauge
HID Tuning 3" downpipe, 3" high flow cat, 3" cat-back
Everything else is stock. Trying to follow the upgrade sequence from here and over at Buschur as closely as possible.
My next planned mods are a Walbro 255 (already purchased), AFPR (probably the $155 bolt on from IE), SAFC 2, and a wideband (PLX?)
Assuming I don't have the money for all 4 right now, is it a good idea to install these individually? If so, which ones and in which order?
Is there a significant difference in functionality between the AFC, SAFC and SAFC II? Pros and cons of each? Are these all universal, or do I need to find one specifically for my car?
Am I right in thinking that I will be abe to do minor tuning wth just the SAFC and wideband? Do I need anything else? (palm, logger, computer, software, tools)
What make/model of wideband is the best bang for the buck? They're all pretty pricey, so I want to buy the right one the first time.
Lastly, what kind of performance increase can I expect from tuning without upgrading the turbo? The car runs pretty nicely as-is. Of course, you don't know what you're missing, right? She's no race car, but she's quick and has some power. Nice daily driver.
I don't plan to get into the 2nd stage mods. Possibly an upgraded turbo and clutch if/when mine fail, but not planned.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Jimmy
