Well, I was installing the original older style older greddy turbo timer (one that only has P-1 and P-2) on my other 2G, which after having done it many times on my older DSMs and other people's it shouldn't confuse me. Of course in the past I just hooked up power/ground/ign1 (green to black/white). I decided lets actually make it so my fans are working when counting down.

So as always I double check the guides.

I go with this one:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=239072

Which states:

IGNITION 2 - BLUE at Ignition Harness
ACCESSORY - BLUE/BLACK at Ignition Harness

Ok, sounds good. Of course the ACC will not be used in our case.

So I find the blue wire and hook it up. I go test it, and my radio is still on while counting down. The car and everything turns off when the timer goes to 0, but the radio being on while counting is not correct. I know I did not mess up in the wiring because I triple checked it.

So back I go here and try to find related threads, unfortunately not too many people are fond of hardwiring.

I check the VFAQ diagram

Which states:

http://www.vfaq.com/mods/wiring-gen2wir.html

Ignition #2 Blue/Black Ignition Switch Harness (heater/AC)
Accessory Blue Ignition Switch Harness (wiper/radio)

Well, back I go to fix it. Just be aware if you go with that guide above. The VFAQ, and all the others I've ran into for 2gs relating to this area is correct, but the first link above is close to the top of the page, it has mixed up my connection, and it could also mix up yours. It was also my fault that I didn't bother to double check with other guides, when 4/5 wire diagrams agree, except for that one, it would've been a no brainer. Oh well, I'm sure it was just a mistake.

Thanks Red, I will amend that guide...I must have mixed up my lines...thanks for the correction.

I was wondering when reading this why my radio was NOT on but yours was...then realised the mixed lines.

Thanks again.
