Ok guys at 7pm AMS is going to host a small BBQ here at the shop for all the evo owners caravaning accross the states to make it to this event. They have so far rented out over 11 rooms at the motel 6 on the corner of busse and oakton. Im sure some shootout esque antics will ensue. The caravan leaves AMS at 7am on saturday morning prompt. it is going to be BIG!!!

I will be heading up there from decatur. me and a buddy with his 3000gt will be there. Ok now guys, I got a drift bodykit so dont chew my ass out up there about it to much. I got plenty of goodies to go along with it though. Hopefully ill see you guys there.

Hey Eric,

what expressway is your caravan taking? are you taking Thorndale to I355 to I55? or are you going another way?

I'll be in a white R/T TT....rain or shine.

What turned out to be up with that axle?

Steve

Bad CV shaft. the joint by the trans gave. my buddy replaced it free of charge. then i had a really loud scraping noise coming from the same side...thought it was a bad wheel bearing but it turned out to just be the dust shield scraping the rotor. everything's fixed and i have the tips and testpipe installed. my car is noticably louder now...i like it

Yes it looks like 355 to I55 is the route. I know that we are pitstopping at somewhere near lockport where an EVO member is making a huge breakfast for people.

I was going to go, but my car is STILL acting up, and I don't want to destroy another turbo, or worse the whole engine. Let me know how it went. I was looking forward to it, but my car hates me.

Nice event! I know I had a good time seeing all the cars. There were quite noticeably more EVO's than any other car out there. I got a chance to talk with Chris from AMS a little bit and peruse through some of the other vendor's tables. Lunch was provided by our local Mitsubishi dealership, O'brien Mitsubishi of bratwursts and noodles. Overall, a very good time. I just wish I hadn't been throwing my car together last night at the last minute. I found out last night when I was putting it back together that the tensioner I was using was quite spongy and didn't want to take the risk. Good times :thumb:

I just got back. I hope they can find a way to run this earlier in the year in the future.

There was a really strong EVO turnout and fewer DSM's than at our local meets. The EVO IX looks a lot like the VIII's but they fixed the ugly front end.

The plant tour was interesting and I'd like to go back when the lines are running.

I got asked several times by plant people if I wanted to sell my car so a few are supporters. :thumb:

i had a great time too. i hope they do this again but when it's warmer out. i had a lot of complements from the workers on my Stealth as well as other enthusiasts. it definately could have been larger then what it was.

anyone crusin on I55 see bout 7 state troopers pullin speeders over? me and two evo VIII's were crusin...i was the lead guy, thought one of the cops were gonna get me....close call tho, they got some car behind the second evo. i saw one 2G silver spyder pulled over...wonder if he's on here?
