Hello,
I have a quick question. I'm looking for the area where Mitsubishi places their stamp code. Reason being I have a G4CP/ 4G63 yada yada. I found out thru wikipedia that some lancer's have the 4G63 in them and I think I found 1 but don"t know. And will it say "4G63" or another code meaning that.

At least on my 2g eclipse, there is a tag on the passenger's side of the firewall that has the engine code, trans code, ect. Plus they've got it stamped into the side of the block (I believe it's the exhaust side near the back of the engine) it'll be a raised flat spot.

I know on the 1gs theres a upraised spot on the drivers front side of the block that has the stamp. Try looking there.

Sorry, my bad on the location, I was at work and was going off of memory(which it seems is faulty). However, I knew it was on the exhuast side(I have trouble with calling that the front in relation to the direction of the crankshaft) of the block somewhere.

Actually first I'm gonna finish my step-son's car off. The exhaust is shot, I ran Seafoam thru it and he was like it's eating thru the exhaust. It smoke out of everywhere. Someone tried welding everywhere and they weren't any good. But making money is always good. Does anyone know how close the 4G64 and lancer's other motors are. This car I seen before they moved it had a nice set of chrome headers. I know I have to check and see if it has the O2 in the header. But if the bolt holes align is the next story.
