The red arrows point to where my starter bolts went. The blue arrow point to where I think I have missing bolts.

Are there suppose to be transmission mount bolts there?

I'm doing my clutch and all the tech guides say that ther should be 5 bolts on top. 2 are towards the front of the car near the exhaust manifold, those bolts are there but I'm guessing the other 3 are where the blue arrows point to.

Does anyone know the length? I beleieve they should be 14mm bolts.

The other picture shows another hole between two other bolts. Should there be another bolt there to?

Could be why I have a bad vibration aruond 2k rpms in all gears?

Any chance this could make the clutch slip under wot?

Another question. In both pictures you can see a electical wire the has a plug connection. In the first pic it is in the bottom left under the blue arrow, in the 2nd pic it is at the top center. It is right in front of the rear transmission/motor mount. WHAT is this wire and does it have to be disconnected to replace the clutch.

The only 2 wires that I know to disconnect was the reverse wire (already unplugged) and the speed cable ( suppose to be 10mm nut to undo it.

Hmm lets see where to start. Ok the first blue arrow in the first picture(top blue arrow) there is supposed to be a 14mm bolt in that hole as well as the hole next to it. You then have your 2 starter bolts. On the side of the transmission where the front motor mount is there is another bolt there. On the other side of the tranny there is another bolt. The best way to see this bolt is to get under the car and just above your axle(by the crossmember) you should see it. Both of these side bolts screw into the dowel pins of the tranny. Most people forget about the one near the axle. The wire in question is the speed sensor like you said and its bolted on by a 10mm nut. Make sure you remove it before taking down the trans as they are very fragile and break easily since its made of plastic.

So then the 2 left arrows are nothing to worry about?

The speed wire looks like it just clips in, is there no way to unlcip it instead of the 10mm nut?

Correct. Yes you can unclip it but its a pain in the ass to put the clip back in. Just unscrew the 10mm nut out and pull out the speed sensor.

Ok, I found the 10mm nut and just pulled the entire thing out.

Turns out that I was just missing the one bolt at the top (first arrow), missing 1 bolt from the shift cable bracket and a few smaller ones around.

I guess this is another reason to do the work yourself. The last shop that did the clutch a couple years back must have lost a lot of bolts and didn't take the time to replace them.

Thanks for the help.

Turns out there was a bolt snapped off inside the motor in the top hole. And the 5th bolt on the back side of the transmission by the axel was missing too. :notgood:

I would go back to the shop that did the clutch 2 years ago and kick some butt, but they closed up.

Its not uncommon for that bolt to be missing. Most people assume that theres no bolts going into the dowel pins. Heck even I made the mistake LOL.

Sorry to bring up old thread, but what size are the dowel slide things. like what size bolts go in there? mine came with none and its being help up by only 2 up top. thanks in adnvace
