I have a 96 eclipse gst with a 6 bolt.MY car idles perfect and runs perfect.Except for the missfire only between 2k-2500 rpm. When it missfires it feels like if I am running on 2 cylinders.Any help would be appreciated.

Rev it up and check the spark. Maybe it gets flooded check the fuel pressure. See if you have any codes for engine. Sometimes even a clogged catalyc converter can do that ( If you have one LOL). Check compression also, it could be missfiring all the time maybe you cant feel it. Could be ECU but very unlikely. Also check all the little things like spark plugs, wire, fuel filter, bad fuel etc....
Good luck, Let me know what it is.

have you done any work recently to it? if yes what was it, and like said above just give the spark plugs and wires/coils and quck check, im not sure but very likely i could be wrong but can boost leak cause this? anyone?

Sounds like the random muliple misfire.
You say theres no light or code? Does your check engine light work?
Typically with a 6 bolt swap you will get a code everyonce and a while. I think its p0300.
When you get the misfire, does it keep misfireing until you shut the car down and restart? Or does it go away on its own?

What CAS are you useing? Green lid or black lid? (color of cam angle sensor cover)
If I remember correctly, when the 6bolt swapped 2g has the random muliple misfire, the code doesn't store after you shut down and restart. So that may be why you are not seeing a code (if your light no longer works). Which leads me to my next question; what are you useing to read the codes?

I dont get a check engine because I am running the 10k potentiometer.I am using the green top cas. They said that the missfire is not noticeable.I feel like 2 cylinders just die at 2k-2500rpm.

without the potentiometer the check engine light comes on and the car almost dies and it wont go away until I shut the car off and back on.

Could be a bad CAM sensor or wiring. I don't have any expirience with the pot mod, but when I had the green lid sensor, it was a headache. I ended up switchimg to the black lid and the problem tolerable. Only happened 1 or 2 times a day, and I had a logger to clear the code, so there was no reason to shut down.
Do you know anyone with DSMlink that would let you borrow their ecu?

The fact that you have a 6bolt with out link still leads me to believe it has something to do with the CAM sensor.

I just added some 560cc injectors from an evo 3 and the missfire is gone. Can anyone give me a logical explanation.I also have 6bolt nippon non turbo pistons from ebay.
