miss firing system

is any1 using a miss firing system?
what r u using for this i hear msd has a plug and play 1?
and that this can also b done with an aem ems?
if so how did u do it on the ems?
which msd system did u use? did u use another set up?
did u feel that it was worth it buying?


i searched but couldent find anything really useful

i dont know if anyone would use a real mis firing system on a street car. but if you do, then i bow down. i dont know of anyone off the top of my head. but please up date us with some info. i have only heard of these being used on wrc cars, evo, wrx, and on the holy grail of jdm tuning, INITIAL-D!!!!

i have a friend running it on a vr6 he claims that its a good buy, i havent ridden in the car or driven it yet so i dont know, i hear that if not done right it can fudge up ure entire exhaust system

when u shift more fuel is sent and is ignited in the exhaust manifold, so when u shift u hear like backfire, "pop pop", it keeps the turbo spooled during shifts, i dont know how it works on N/A cars

It kills the life of your engine. I dont think that it can be run on a street car unless you have VERY deep pockets. Expect to replace you ENTIRE engine every 10,000-20,000 miles.

They dump raw fuel into the manifold where it ignites and the combustion energy spools the turbo. Thats the pop you hear when rally cars shift, the explosion in the exhaust. When they use the sequential/paddle shifter, there is a motion snesor in it that momentarily cuts power while it shifts. So that makes it even more noticeable.

Basicly plays havoc with your turbo and your exhaust system. Dont get me wrong its a great way to have instant boost but it comes at the price of durability of your turbo and exhaust, and just about every other part of your engine.

DSMLink has this feature, EMS probably does too (if you can figure it out).

Exactly, an ALS (which is used on rallycars) does keep the turbo spooled and will kill your engine/turbo.
