ok got the head back together and the cars running BUT it idles like crap. matter of fact if its below 1300 rpms it continulesly misfires but it does run and it wants to settle around 600 rpms while sitting there
here are my thoughts as to why its doing that and id like you guys to chime in if you have any thoughts or had a similar problem and you figured out what fixed your issue
I have a cracked exhaust mani ( right along the top of it ) so its worthless and ive got another one ready to bolt on
the turbo is the stock t25 and it has 113k on it so theres a ton of shaft play in it and the intercooler pipes are coated with oil. I also have a newer one ready to bolt in
and the num nuts before me decided to make his own lower IC pipe and made it out of a radiator hose ( ya i kid you not ) so needless to say its crimped in the middle bend and probably not letting a ton of air by it
oh and the gas is 10 weeks old at least and on an empty tank, i just mixed in a fresh 1.5 gallon 93 octane fuel with it so i figured that would get rid of the issue if it was gas.
any other thoughts guys? compressions good, its time right, oh i had to make my own fuel injector grommets for the head, obviously not perfect but they fit well, ( out of 3/8ths fuel injector hose ) now that i know the head and block are in good condition ill order the correct ones off line, could this be a big enough issue to let enough air by them that it could run like this??
thanks for the thoughts ahead of time
