Mid-alarm install update

I have almost got the alarm and entry system completed. A compressor at school took a crap so I was without air for half the day. I have quite a few pictures of the wiring and door popper install. Hopefully it will be done by Thursday and we can start make the blank plates Friday. Once the electronics are all installed and functional I will post a walk-through for those interested. Maybe this weekend?

*Here are a few pics of what was done Sunday. All my splices have now been soldered and routed looms for harnesses to all the firewall holes as of today. I must say it's really hard to find the stuff now I have to get it back under good lights before I can take any finished pics. I'll try to get those up with a description of the system and all the wires I had to tap and why sometime this weekend. I also have the door pistons installed now and should be taking the doors off tomorrow.

I have done this to my 1G, I like the mod but now can't run on the local track. Which actuators did you use, and what mods are you doing to the door panels? Would love to see the pics of the inside panels.

I had to make a decision on whether or not I was going to race it. Another issue I have with it is I only want to race it if I can run open cockpit. So yea that's pretty limited. So I figured what the hell. The purpose of the car isn't supposed to be for racing at all but rather a gradual build up to something capable utilizing something a bit more ridiculous power-train wise. And eventually just a show/weekend car that's sick looking and tech heavy. But wicked fun to drive. If I one day want to build a true track car it will most likely be a GSX but for now the Spyder has to fit the mold of a 'touring car.' Plus I am still looking for a clever way to reinstall some kind of smooth door handles that WONT break before paint hits. They just can't be very visible to suit my use...

For do handles have you thought of using something like what the Cadillac XLR uses? It uses an electric switch to activated the lock then the poppers push the door slightly open. All you end up with is a slight cubby so you can get to the switch.

I've been seriously thinking about this. I was wondering what the rules say about how the handle has to work... I believe new Corvettes come with that feature as well. And it seems to me the rules would have to allow for a non-mechanical handle as long as some sort of hand hold is there because of stock cars being equipped with this now. I suppose it depends on the league... anyone have any insight into this?
