metal head gasket?

quick question guys do you need to deck the block and head before puting on a metal head gasket.. i heard they could blow if you dont...

No. I never did. I use a cometic MLS on every car I get/build aswell. I have never had any problems. Just make sure your head is in good shape and not warped, ETC. You'll be fine.

why do you need a MLS HG to start with? how much boost are you running?

if the head is not serviced properly this MLS will not seal. and guess what not every machine shop knows how to surface the head for the MLS gasket. search more about this before you end up blowing it in no time.

if you are running up to 20 PSi max i would stick with the OEM gasket. its the BEST.

im not sure exactly how much yet but i no its goin to be over 500 horse power. i have precision gt35r 70ar with hks manifold magnus intake mani and hks 272 cams with 1000cc precision injectors, block fully built as well with custum pistons with a 7.5:1 compression for high boost. and i also have the aem ems to run it all.

if the block has been over heated, or had a Rol-loc used to clean the old HG off of it it will need to be milled

the deck surface of both the block and head has to be smooth as glass

Do NOT let your head be belt surfaced.
