seemn some of those around for like 125$ ..are they any good?? local shoips sell em here for 2 to 3 times that amount.. so i wanted to know if anyone was running a metal core high flow cat (2.5 or 3inch) along with a 2.5 or 3 inch turbo back and their experiences?

Edit: i do emmisions testing wednesdays at work, so passing my car isnt a problem to me, i know metal cores wich are placed further downstream(like in dsms and older cars) need some time to warm up and operate.. i was wondering if these cats operate at all (the ebay ones for 1/3 the price of the shop ones)

If you can pass no problem, then why put one on there?:D

i know, but i get a random cel because my second o2 is saying the cats messed up (im running a test pipe)

and secondley, the cops have been looking more closely at the imports now (they always used to stop the vw opel bmw audi guys) ..also,any with half a brain (cop) can see that my car smells worse out the tail pipe than a 100 lawn mowers... and if you listen closely, you can hear the resonnance the catless exhaust makes.. so i figured, id upgrade to a 3inch downpipe and 3 inch metal cat..(insped is in march TUV safety inspoection, road test.. i just do the emmisions testing)

so i was woindering, with a big ol 3 inch cat in there, i should cause a noticable restriction..

what do you think ?

besides,it would give me one less thing to worry about when the Polizei is in my rear view mirror LOL

Turn the car off when the cop pulls you over and get a hi flow stock looking muffler, as for the ebay thing... i woudnt try it.

I got a good slip fit 3" high flow cat from RNR for about $125. Works great, I didn't notice a difference in performance and it really took the edge off the sound and smell.

Id try it, if you research enough and dont rush into anything, it will usually work right. Make sure you buy from someone with alot of posative feed back, ask for more pics/info if you can. If something happens, will oops, but sometimes you can be Pleasntly dissapointed. Ebay is the shit.

That's just common sense. The more at ease you place LEO, the more leniency they may be willing to grant.

you can get magnaflow 3" high flow cats for 50 bucks shipped on ebay, why would you go with anything else(thats not brand name)?when your going to the track or races or whatever just have it flanged along with the straight pipe so you can use it accordingly.

PS i agree with you on the car smells like ass with no cat.at least i can smell it.If you wanna go all out, although not legal, you can gut out a cat and jhon q will never now the difference. For the CEL you can do the resistor mod to fool your ecu about your 2nd o2 sensor.

actually gutting a cat causes more problems than leaving it intact.

there's a lot of dispute on that, but do a search. most people on here will tell you it's not a good thing.

i know us dsm-ers are a little cheap, but if you're gonna have a cat and still want power just pony the 50-100 bucks for a nice high flow cat.

Yeah your right.I forgot to add the part about welding the straight pipe inside the body of the guted cat :coy: .But like we said a high flow one is so cheap to come by,and most importantly, street legal.

My vote goes for the high-flow cat. I started with the straight-pipe, went open downpipe for a while, now I'm ending up with the high-flow cat. I actually switched to try and cut down a little on the boost creep, but now I wouldn't even go back to straight pipe.
