I installed my exhaust back in February and everything was fine untill a few months later, the cat started rattling at idle. I tried some things to make it go away and nothing worked but it just seemed to go away on it's own. Now, it's back again and worse than before. I'm almost positive it's just the shield rattling on the cat itself. Have any of you had a problem with this and what did you do? Not sure if removing the shield would be a bad thing because I assume it's on there for a reason. Any thoughts?

mine did it too. Next time it rattles while in idle put your foot on the exhaust and it will stop. Something that secures your exhaust is a little loose so your exhaust is vibrating.

Well, I've already done that. I'm about 99% sure it's just my shield kinda shaking loose, all my hangers are good and secure, it's not really like the whole exhaust is shaking though. So, what did you do to fix yours exactly though?

I tightened the bolts on the heat shield...

On an old civic I just took it off. No harmful effects for the civic.

That would be sweet if my heat shield did have bolts. I ended up just screwing the shield into the cat itself and the noise has just about gone away completely. It doesn't look like it will leak but it probably will anyways. I'm not too worried about it though, I'll take a minor exhaust leak over that horrible noise.
